Went here for the first time a few days ago while staying at the lodge. First night we went here , things were good. Waited about 10 mins to be seated which was no big deal. The place wasn't packed as it was about 8:30. Our waitress greeted us with a smile and took our order. Took a little while for the food to come out but I also understand that the kitchen needs to accommodate "to go" orders as well from guests at the lodge so no big deal. Wings were very good, got their hot sauce which was plenty hot. Also ordered a burger which was really good, my daughter also order a kids cheeseburger which she said was delicious as well as their garlic rosemary fries which she loved. Had such a good experience that night we decided to go back again the next night. Wow...what a difference. Our waitress came by after like 10 mins of being seated, no greeting no smile no anything just "what do you want to drink". We placed our drink orders and an order of mozz sticks. She brought the drinks over and said the appetizer will be out shortly. almost 15 mins later a different waitress dropped off the mozz sticks. Our waitress (who was no working behind the bar" didn't stop by ever to see how we were doing or if we needed refills. 15 mins after that our food was brought to us by the same waitress who dropped off the mozz sticks. So I asked her "Are you are waitress now or is still the original waitress". She replied that is was still the original waitress to which I commented "I wasn't sure because she hasn't been over here since she took our drink orders, and I've seen you more than I've seen her" After that our original waitress/bartender came by atleast 6 times over the course of like 10 mins to make sure we were ok. It's almost as if she was doing it out of spite because someone told her we complained. My daughter enjoyed her mac and cheese but my chicken sandwich was so overdone and the outside was so hard it scraped the roof of my mouth. Tough to have such a good experience followed up by...
Read moreWe are staying at the Great Escape Lodge and thought we’d have a quick dinner after checking in before taking the kids to the Water Park. Restaurant seemed empty enough and we were told a 10 minute wait. Ok no big deal. 20 minutes later and we’re finally sat at a table that’s soaked because it had just been wiped down. The host started explaining something but was interrupted for someone to dry the table and he never came back. A server came and took our drink order which came quickly enough. A family next to us had been sat and ordered before we sat down was told their food would be right out. This happened 3 more times during the 45 minutes we sat waiting for our food. These poor people’s kids were restless and no one in this restaurant seemed to care about what was going on. By this point I’m fuming mad and then our food came out first but not even all of it one of my daughter’s meals was missing. In my experience you don’t bring out the entire order when a child’s meal is missing. It took another 5 minutes to get her food. Had the table who had been waiting longer than us not got their food a minute after ours I would have lost it. What kind of restaurant does that sort of thing especially to families with small kids? My chicken tenders were over cooked and dry. They also came with a third sauce I didn’t know what it was and did not order. The garlic Parmesan sauce tasted like I brought a dipping sauce from Little Cesars. When the bill came it was severely overpriced for what we paid and we were charged twice for the onion rings but I’d spent enough time there to want to deal with it. It took us almost two hours start to finish for this restaurant resulting in us not being able to use the water park tonight with our kids. It was essentially like throwing away day passes...
Read moreWe stopped here after a day of shopping in Lake George we are locals but knew the restaurant at 1 pm would be busy for lunch so we decided to give it a go. The manager at the door was so welcoming and friendly we immediately took our seats at the bar to order a few drinks and nachos ( which we were pleasantly surprised by not your basic tasting nachos ) we did wait to place our actual food order for about 20 minutes but understood they were very busy and trying to serve the bar and tables near by we WERE NOT put off by waiting. The boneless wings were sooooo good I was so impressed the meat was tender and the breading was fresh these are not " bagged wings " these wings are fresh! The dipping sauce was amazing the fries were hot. My spouse had a philly sandwich and he was just as impressed, portion was great, his fries were good his only comment was he wished for a dipping sauce but that's just his preference. I made sure to let the manager know how impressed were with the quality of the food I needed to leave good feedback as a former food service worker they needed to hear how happy we were! If you want a friendly casual dining experience with the sound of family laughter in the background ... stop here! What a great eating experience we...
