Phat Backs BBQ Food Truck — Restaurant in Town of Richfield

We attended the Lakefront concert series in Cooperstown last night. One of the food trucks was Phat Backs so we decided to give it a try. It was phenomenal. Got the Bahn-mi Bowl and the Fuego! Bowl. Both were spectacular. To start. These were not small portions. They will definitely fill you up, and I cannot say enough good things about the flavor profiles of each. The jerked chicken in the Fuego! Bowl really stood out. It was very tender and juicy, not dried out like a lot of jerk chicken tends to be. And the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers that were included with the bowl were just the icing on top of a delicious cake. The big beans that came with both meals were perfect. We had the Cubano and the Stoopid BBQ Chicken and they were absolutely phenomenal! The flavors were incredible, and the portions were huge—definitely worth every bite. The beans blew us away too (especially impressive coming from someone who usually doesn’t like beans!).

This place is awesome. Worth every bit of the price and the guy who owns it, and the one who helps run it are great people. Cuban is always a hard sandwich to master and these guys have it down. Thank you for the conversation and food. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. The flavors are savory and sweet. Baked beans are savory, little spice and sweet.
