Papa Joe's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Richmond

Live down the road from this pizza place maybe 14 mins. Have tried on a few occasions from previous owner and now 3 times with new ownership. The positive : there subs are just outright amazing cant say enough praise on that. Pizza on the other hand ordered a sheet very flat and thin slightly under cooked and doughy. Usually I'm done for months once I have a bad experience before I try again. But ordered a large with there amazing garlic knots very good pizza crust thickness could still be thicker my opinion tho. Now customer service end- seems like a pizza party house few times I've noticed hanging out on there phones not very polite on occasion guess it depends on day of the week you go. And lastly my latested experience ordered knots, calzone,chicken sub,fries for pick up through website. They never confirmed order was ready though via text ,went inside and asked after waiting in parking lot for a few minutes. Oh yeah your orders ready we forgot to notify you ok that happens sometimes I get it.I realize the extra marinara sauce I asked for isnt with the order the young guy checks order oh yes let me get that and reminds everyone to confirm everything is there with the orders .Grab the order go home oh theres no calzone.......... hmmmm didnt he just confirm my order for me why would I think to re check my food after they made it and checked it again. We call and say theres no calzone oh well uhhh umm we can deliver it to you what's your address I tell him 4 times 15 mins later he calls how do I find your street again.at this point I ask for compensation of some sort or sympathy anything NOPE just a well I'm in my car now we can just keep the calzone here and credit the calzone. No I need my food. Okay well um we can give u like 5 dollars credit next time He shows up hand off the box and just turns and leaves. In conclusion they need better customer service a simple I am so sorry right off the bat and I will credit you card back the calzone or send an extra hot calzone with yours especially because by the time I received it it was cold had to heat it myself in the oven. It’s a shame because the foods decent (sometimes). But it’s LITERALLY every time we order there it’s a catastrophe. Whether the credit card machines down and the guy says who doesn’t carry cash? The dough on calzones and pizza will be raw when you get your food. When you order fish fry and extra tartar sauces, you will get 0; and when you go back in to ask for what you ordered and paid for, you’ll be told he’ll have to charge you extra. And heaven forbid they give you someone else’s pizza but you don’t notice until you get home, so you call and let them know, and go back for the correct pizza. Only to be offered the one that’s now an hour and a half old and been on someone else table. And the staff is disgruntled when you say you’d like a fresh one of the one you ordered and continue to trash talk you while you’re standing right there… seriously, just go...

We were really excited to try this place out. Was not impressed at all. Husband called to order so I could pick up on my way home... He was asked to be put "on hold"... Ok no biggie.. But then he could hear the guys talking/laughing in the background for more than 5 minutes on this "hold" till he finally hung up. Tried calling back several times over the next 10 minutes and the line was busy. Finally got through and ordered. Was not overly impressed. Pizza was ok, but nothing great.. Seemed smaller than a normal large. Wings were over done and not the best. Also was very overpriced.. Especially for the quality of what we received. Sorry to say, will...
