Incredibly disappointed by this establishment. My family and I have been coming here for years, once a month if not more over the summer and fall. We have two small children with sensory issues and food aversion. It’s hard to find somewhere in which they will eat. Often they will not eat at all. So as parents we do what we can to keep them fed, but also try to go out sometimes and enjoy our few days off we even get out East. Today we were heading to pumpkin picking and decided to stop for lunch prior here as we usually do. Every single time I have come which is upwards of 20 times, I have brought my kids the only thing i KNOW they will eat, a small peanut butter and jelly. I usually let them eat it and then order them fries here (the only thing on this limited menu that they eat). The owners know us and have seen this before and never gave an issue. Today they decided to tell me as I went to order (2 entrees & an appetizer, 2 cocktails and the side of fries for my kids) that I needed to either take my kids pbj out of their mouths, or leave. I refuse to snatch food out of my children’s mouths, so we left. I had to have them finish eating in the parking lot. Both owners, who are parents, would not budge. “Sorry you cannot follow a simple rule” is all she kept saying and told me I should have fed my children in the parking lot and THEN came in for me and my wife to eat. After many years of coming here, ordering $100+ bills EVERY time, tipping well and always recommending the spot, I was met with 0 compassion or respect as a customer. A simple “hey listen going forward we can’t allow outside food or drink” and allowing the kids to at least finish this time would have been a bit more appropriate. Mind you there was NO ONE there. We were the ONLY customers. They didn’t need to make a point with two small kids. She essentially told me they were old enough to deal with it by saying there’s no exception and “if they were babies I would allow them to eat puffs in here maybe”…what about children with special needs? Sensory issues? Eating aversion? My kids are ALWAYS quiet, courteous and respectful here. And my wife and I spend plenty to make our table worth your time. Will never be returning or recommending this place again. Learn where your money has come from...
Read moreNot tolerant of children with food allergies! Worst-ever dining experience. We had stopped here for lunch with my family and ordered the fried chicken thigh sandwiches. We spent $100 on 4 sandwiches, two orders of french fries, and 3 canned sodas. My wife was waiting in the car with our three children. They were finishing up McDonald’s meals since they have food allergies. (McDonald’s is actually a very allergy-friendly establishment since they have a detailed food allergen menu listed on their site). I made the mistake of telling my wife to join us at the table since we were waiting for our food. This being said, as soon as my wife and children sat down, the owner’s wife came over to tell us that outside food was not permitted. We were told there were no exceptions (including food allergies), despite spending $100 to sit at a sticky outdoor picnic table. When my wife explained our situation, she rudely responded, “And McDonald’s is (allergy friendly)?!?!” When the owner’s wife finally brought out our food, she told us that we had to leave and when we asked for boxes, they were tossed on our table. We’ve never been treated so poorly. As a parent with children with multiple food allergies it is a constant struggle to find a safe place to eat outside the home. We often have to bring food and snacks with us to restaurants. A lot of restaurants cannot guarantee preventing cross contamination. It is always a risk when we go out to eat. We carry an Epipen everywhere we go. These sandwiches were 100 percent not worth the way we were treated. Not to mention the meal itself was definitely overrated and not worth the money that we spent. We will never come back here and we will make sure to share this horrible experience with everyone we know. Especially fellow food...
Read moreBiggest waste of my money in probably the last 5 years. That’s how bad it was. Fried chicken sandwich was so dry. I love fried chicken sandwiches despite how unhealthy they are and have had many at places such as cowfish, clover club, smorgasborg, spitzers (now closed) and they were all better. This might have been the worst chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and go else where. I also got three grilled chicken sandwiches for my children and they will eat anything. But guess what… collectively they took 3 total bites from the 3 sandwiches. They did not like the grilled cheese at all. Very dry. Bread to cheese ratio was all messed up. 75 main has better grilled cheese sandwich. Straight to the trash. The only good thing was that the fries were decent but also soggy. The hostess was rude. Rushed me with the order and did not give me a receipt after telling me the price. I’m not a regular and want to make sure that I’m being charged correctly. The hostess misspoke and made it sound like I ordered grilled cheese and burgers for kids meals. When I asked her what she was talking about, she was very condescending and denied she said “burgers.” Sorry I’m a doctor and you’re a hostess. Part of my job is to listen to people and remember what they say. Which is why I questioned her. I won’t go back bc of the service and how bad the food was. Nor would I recommend anyone eat here unless they are giving away food. Even then, it’s debatable. This was a Wednesday evening the week...
