Wanted to love this place since we drove by it so many times and wanted to try it out but unfortunately the service was not up to par. Came in at 3:20 left 4:20 because we had to take our food to go since it was taking long. The restaurant was a little busy had like 10 tables so we understand that the food was gonna take a bit longer. The server who sat us after we stood there for 10 mins told us the food was gonna take 30-35 mins which we were fine with. We sat and a different server who was very sweet took our order. Unfortunately we had to wait 20 mins for chips and salsa to come out (which should have been out less than 10 since it’s just chips and salsa….) when the chips came out they were soggy…(all 3 servers were at the bar giggling and talking) after that we waited the other 40 mins for our food. At 4:05 the manager I think came up to us and told us that our food was gonna take 5 more mins (wrong) and we asked for it to be packed up since it had already been so long and we didn’t want to sit any longer. After 10 mins my boyfriend was upset that it still was not ready and asked the manager why it was taking so long it had been like an hour. She was then rude to us and said “it’s been 45 mins” like that fixed the situation that we were in… horrible behavior from a customer service person since both my boyfriend and I work in the business too. My boyfriend then said “well it’s pretty much was” she then said “well when you were sat we told you 45 mins” which it was a lie she told us 30-35. It was just rude almost made me laugh a bit. At 4:20 our food came out. We wanted to tip our server separately because she was sweet and my boyfriend asked her if the tip was pooled. She was then rude and said snarky “you don’t have to tip me” we left a 15% tip. We hate being rude and not leaving good tip but this was just unacceptable for restaurant staff. They need better management or something because the phones were ringing and there was no one to pick them up. They just continued to ring. 3 times that happened. Absolute mess in there. They had 3 servers. We work in a large restaurant with hibachi and never needed more than 3 servers when the restaurant was packed out. They had 10 tables max. Just sad to see because it is a...
Read moreI have been waiting for an alternative to the standard New England style seafood on the North Fork for quite some time so I consider Good Jujus a welcome addition to the local choices from the creators of Lucharitos. Granted, I patronized Good Jujus on their opening day so I believe that they will improve moving forward. I lunched out front with a friend and it was a sunny day but there was no shelter from the sun at our table. To start, the service was very good. The staff was friendly and attentive from the servers, bartender all the way up to the manager. I feel the food execution needs some tweaking. My freind was disappointed that there is no crawfish boil on the menu, but he did enjoy the crab boil, and he suggested to the manager that they should consider including crawfish as an occasional special. My Chopped Brisket sandwich was tasty, but not particularly chopped making it somewhat difficult to eat. Hey, I understand that BBQ is messsy food, but a sandwich like that could be better constructed. The cocktails were just as good as we have come to expect from Lucharitos and we thoroughly enjoyed them. One last point. Given the messy nature of the finger food, Good Jujus might want to consider some way to help their patrons clean up after their meal. The rolls of paper towels on every table are great, but they don't the really help with stickiness when you're done eating. I will definitely be returning to see how things progressand hopefully upgrade this review! Give Good Jujus a try. It is surely going to...
Read moreStopped here with my family as we were headed east and the place was very busy. I was excited to try the brisket but was disappointed to be told that the brisket and pulled pork wasn’t ready. Our server was Kate and even though she was busy, she was very attentive and when I asked her what her favorite thing on the menu was, she said we should try the beef nachos. We did and they were excellent. We ordered a variety of things from the menu but my favorite was the Mahi tacos. The fish was cooked perfectly and my wife really loved her salad with steak. The veggies were fresh and vibrant and the steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. Don’t think twice about ordering their cocktails. I had a watermelon margarita and it was amazing. I never had a margarita with basil before and it’s my new favorite. My wife had the painkiller and she loved it so much, she ordered another. The kids had cheese quesadillas and they liked them. What stood out to me most about my visit was my kids wanted lemonade and they must have ran out. The bartender made fresh lemonade for the kiddos and they were so happy.
I really wanted to try that brisket but everything we did order was delicious and well prepared. Very good service, stellar cocktails and cool decorations all...
