The food is not bad at all, however the service is horrendous. I have been going there for a long time as there was the only Mexican restaurant available in the area but there are many more opening in Calverton and Wading River. There is no existent customer service. Each time I would go there, the owner would not even look at you, the order was always incorrect and the owner did me a favor by taking my money and providing food for it. This time, I reached a point of no return and I will never return there as I ordered $140 worth of food that I had to write down on a piece of paper for them in person as they would not take the order themselves. I ordered 3 hours in advance and when I picked up the order and went home where I had bunch of people waiting for a birthday dinner, turned out that a part of my order was missing. When I called, I did not get an apology but "ok...ok... you can come and get your order". I was upset not only with the lack of appropriate order but a lack of customer service and pretty much f... you attitude. When I went back to get my stuff, they still did not give me the complete order until I had to repeat it again and when I left the place being beyond pissed, the owner I had the nerve to utter "good luck". I work with people and I remember that in this country, the customer is always right and at least have the decency to apologize. A lot of my friends and family go there and they will lose a long standing customer and many of my friends because of their attitude and lack of professionalism. Don't make any long orders. They can not handle it. They know how to take money...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this Mexican restaurant. It is important to know this establishment is mostly outdoors. Although they have done a fantastic job in decorating the outdoor space and making it feel like you are inside, you are outdoors. There is no AC. The evening I went, it had rained a bit earlier. Seating was limited to where I could sit based on what was dry. When you arrive, you place your order with the cashier and the food is brought to you. Drinks are picked up at another counter. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Food is served in takeaway containers. Utensils are disposable. Sauces are on a counter that you can help yourself to. Plenty of choices on the menu. Food was good. There is an ice cream place immediately next door. The parking lot is shared between the two places. I would say on a busy night parking might be tight. If the weather is pleasant and you want to go grab Mexican with a few friends, have margaritas and not feel rushed and linger all for a reasonable price, this is a good spot. Having the ice cream place next door is a plus. After dinner, you can grab ice cream and sit outside. The ice cream place has lots of outdoor seating. Check hours of the restaurant as it closes earlier than the ice...
Read moreThis is my girlfriend's favorite Mexican place that she's been going to for years, so I was very excited to see what all the hype was about. Came for an early dinner on a sleepy Sunday. Small unassuming little place, but it packs a lot of personality in it. The atmosphere has great colorful Mexican decor that definitely gets me in the mood for a fiesta. Service was great, very patient and food came out hot, fresh and quick! We started with chips and guac, and they definitely don't skimp on your guac portion like most places do. We both did quesadillas, I got the surf wax Q with chorizo and she got the funchadilla with steak. Both equally delicious, but the cilantro cream sauce on the surf wax was what really sold me, I just might put that on everything. Seating is a little limited (they were also doing some renovations at the time) but they have great to-go containers too if you want to take it and run. Parking is easy right in the attached lot too. Everything on the menu sounded great and I would love to come back here in the summer and sit outside, enjoy a cold hard beverage and down a few tacos. That's what really gets me through the...
