We've been customers here for years (decades?) and always enjoy the ice cream.
I came a couple times over the summer, one of those times with my Italian class, and had the cookie dough ice cream. I'm pretty picky about it and found out they don't skimp on the dough bits, which I appreciate! I used to just get soft serve or those ice cream sandwich pinwheels but I'm a convert for the cookie dough now!
We had one small issue at the end of last year/beginning of this year with a gift certificate. The pandemic made everything crazy and the shop closed for the season earlier than usual, rendering the GC useless/expired. We thought it was a lost cause. However, I gave it a shot and after contacting the business the owner responded and offered to honor the GC. That was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. And when I came in to redeem it there weren't any owners around, but DJ was there and he accommodated me.
I'm not writing about this so people will take advantage of their kindness; I'm writing it out because they were so gracious. They did not have to honor the expired GC but they did and we appreciate that very much.
We enjoyed the cake (which was bigger than we thought it would be!) and will likely be back for another once I finish radiation, if the shop is open. DJ said they'll write just about anything on the cakes and I may have to take them up on that if they're willing to write "f$&@ cancer" or something along those lines! :)
A happy, healthy, and safe holiday season to the...
Read moreLate Sunday afternoon I was in the mood for a handmade, solid ice cream milk shake. Strawberry is my favorite but that’s just a personal preference. A quick google search lead me to Snowflake Ice Cream Shoppe which had solid reviews. The BLUF, the shake was good; not the best I’ve ever had but a reasonable priced hand made milkshake. The only downside was the wait. I arrived with only one elderly couple in front of me and was pleasantly surprised to think it possible to order and have my treat in less than five minutes…a rare occurrence on a nice Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, the manager and the elderly couple were in a conversation about who knows who and who’s doing what where. The manager literally talked with these folks for ten minutes oblivious to his other customers patiently waiting in line. I became so annoyed at the disrespect that I began making facial gestures and body clues that this treatment was unacceptable. Fortunately another worker came out of the back and took my order. As for the manager, he carried on with his reunion right up to the point where I walked out the door. So to sum it up, good ice cream and a...
Read moreSome of the best ice cream I've had in a long time. The staff is very nice and patient as customers can have a tough time picking from all the interesting flavors. There was a 15 minute line when I was there around dinner time on a weekend but it goes fast because it takes that much time to round down to 2 or 3 choices. There's only limited outdoor seating around back in a gazebo and stone seating in the front. There were seven of us, all ordering different flavors and they were all great. I don't remember the names, but I think our favorites were the banana split flavored ice cream (very refreshing) and the chocolate raspberry with brownie. I got the chocolate chip cone, which was a dessert with my dessert, very good. The portions were very generous, so you may want to order a size smaller, however forget what I just said because it was...
