The Grandstand — Restaurant in Town of Rotterdam

Brought my grandkids here for ice cream 🍦 on a hot summer day 😋 First time any of us had ever been (my daughter was with me) First I'll say that the "kid sized" cones were bigger than other places "small" cones Definitely no complaints about the sizes, if anything, they were a bit Too Big (I know 😀 Who says That about Ice Cream) my babies had more ice cream melting down their arms than in their bellies. The little play area in back was Perfect for the kids as well! My 4 year old & grandson & his 3 yr old sister both mastered the "hand ladder thingy" LOL 😆 No idea what its called! The bathroom was Very Clean and convenient! Thank goodness for that sink 😉 My Only complaint is the Cost - I paid $18 for 3 kiddie & 1 small cone - 🤷‍♀️ that seems high to me IDK 🤷‍♀️ All things considered, I probably Will bring the grandkids back again!!! My daughter visited this place today and found a hair in her ice cream and also noticed no one was wearing hair nets or gloves. I called and spoke to whom I believe was the manager, who appeared to be unbothered by this and rather grudgingly said we don’t wear hair nets or gloves, that gloves just pass germs. Okay well what about changing your gloves for each new service? Are you kidding me? Especially in this pandemic and even if there was no pandemic this should be a regular practice just out of being sanitary. I just found this place, I actually enjoyed the ice cream and the hospitality and was planning on visiting again, however I will not return and I will let anyone that I know of my experience. Very greedy with the ketchup, I asked for the dispenser while the young man was handing the two orders of French Fries; he placed the food on the counter and said I put a couple in there for you and then walked off. Only 3 packets in the bag for 2 orders of fry’s smh! Also we ordered 2 strawberry smoothies (we send back) so what we learned is only get it when the mature ladies are working if you see men working, forget about it or if you see young girls working?? don’t get it then either spent $22 today and sent the smoothies back smoothies were so nasty the disgusting taste was intentional.
