Ok, this is frustrating to write. When we arrived it didn't seem overly busy and felt lucky to grab a picnic table in a socially distanced deck. They are trying to use suggested covid guidelines except there are only teenagers working there so it was a total free for all by the disinterested guests. No one following single exit/entry doors clearly marked & limit of 10 guests inside to order. No one using the blue circles clearly marked for social distancing. Picnic tables on deck 6 ft. apart but everyone standing in space around the tables totally blocking all areas on patio & grass by the time we decided any early exit was needed. It was actually pretty mobbed and next to impossible to easily move and actually had to ask people seated sitting on floor of deck to move out of the way. No one employed seemed capable of enforcing anything. No one cleaning tables. It was like they considered taking re opening seriously and then decided, "nah... too much work...let's just pretend we are doing it". Sadly it felt like we were in a crowded bar with over served rude guests that the management didn't have the time or desire...
Read moreI just don’t get the popularity of this place. Or maybe it’s really just for people from Illinois who don’t know any better? I don’t know. But Illinoisans are people too, and they don’t deserved to be ripped off. You guys, this is literally Cedar Crest. That’s no knock on Cedar Crest, don’t get me wrong. Instead, they leave baby wipes out for customers to wipe down the tables themselves. If you’re looking for a nice, reasonably priced scoop of Cedar Crest served in a friendly, clean establishment, do yourself a favor and head to...
Read moreI love Cathy's Ice Cream Shop. It's a staple of St Germain, WI. Almost every time I am up there for whether a week with the family at the Cabin in July or on a long weekend with friends we try and stop in there at least once. I have been going to Cathy's since I was a little kid which has been almost 40 years. Definitely a great place to get a treat on those hot summer days/nights or even if you just want to go to a classic ice cream parlor. Then have those Jawbreakers that every kid always wants but like never finish and other great selections of...
