Sugar Top Bake Shoppe — Restaurant in Town of Salina

This is the only mixed review I have for my wedding. Now I reached out to sugartop twice with no response to book my wedding I finally just went there and they were helpful and got us booked. I did a tasting and I will say I absolutely love their baked goods but I won’t be using them again. They did not even remember that I sent my deposit and then absolutely no communication on when the rest was due I assumed the day of just as the rest of my vendors, but as ANY bride knows wedding week is crazy to say the least so I finally had a moment and thankfully I did and I checked my email and had two from them saying my balance was already due and they could hopefully fit me in still (absolutely insane since already paid my deposit and sent everything we wanted) oh the they said they didn’t know my flavors !!! Crazy thing is they did have all my flavors from weeks before !! And not once did they try to call me or text just email which I provided my phone number not once but twice to them !!! I manage a salon and anytime I have a wedding I always reach out via phone call or text as I know the brides are busy the week of, when I was done emailing I had no issue going to pay them but the staff was rude and so dismissive!!! **See my edit/update below. Everything is delicious! My fiancé and I have bought doughnuts, bread, Cinnamon rolls and half moons from Sugar Top and it never disappoints! I spoke with the owner, Lisa, today about possibly doing my wedding cake and she was a delight to speak with and has reasonable wedding cake prices! This is must try bakery! 😋 Rose **Edit/update. After several attempts to get Lisa to call me back to do my wedding, it just never worked out. She would forget or say how busy she was (my wedding was October,2021). She did give me 2 free cupcakes to try as a tasting for our Wedding but unfortunately, they were very dry, no one in my family cared for them, which surprised me because her desserts were always tasty. I was running out of time and just didn't feel she cared of she got my business or not. We ended up going with the owner of "The Mixing Bowl" who was wonderful and returned calls and made us a fantastic wedding cake. I have been here twice now. Very clean business, friendly people working it. To date have tried cinnamon rolls , awesome taste, texture and size. Just the right amount of flavour without being over powering, size is not skimpy. Had this wonderful chocolate cake with mini marshmallows. The texture and creaminess of cake and frosting was beyond fantastic. The cream puffs had a delicious filling but I found the pastry a bit dense. I still enjoyed it though. This time around got carrot cake, berry cream cheese bar and more cinnamon rolls. Tried the berry cream cheese bar. Can we say yummm 😋 I haven't tried the carrot cake yet but judging by looks I'm assuming it will be delicious. This place was recommended to me and I felt it was worth going back to and passing on a recommendation. I noticed Fresh Italian bread and mini loaves as well for sale.
