Bombadils Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Schroeppel

Such a shame. We had a take out order, purchased the 1/2lb fried scallop dinner that comes with a side and slaw. No slaw and just over 4oz of scallops. My wife called because we assumed they just made us the app size, and she said that it usually comes with 5 scallops, but she gave us an extra one because they were small….. it was half an order man. Scallops are one of those things that have a near similar raw/cooked weight so no excuses there. Had they just said “oh! We made a mistake, all would be fine.” Next, the cheesesteak was inedible due to the bun being soaked through, almost no cheese and the meat was all gristle. We didn’t make a big deal simply because they gave us so many chicken tenders and fries, the kid still ate. The ham...

Local people. Local color. Sign says working man's bar. They aren't BSing . Staff is great. Food is great. Cheap COLD beer. Supports the community. Snowmobile stop in winter time. Bike stop in the summer. Roadhouse/tavern. No draft beer. Cash only. ATM on premises. Live music. A NASCAR buffet. Superbowl buffet. Kentucky Derby party. Little rough and tumble but 5 mins after walking thru the door you will feel like you have never been anywhere else. Not perfect by any means. Definitely not the kind of place for a romantic outing. But not over the top absurd either. The quintessential small town bar. 40 yrs of doing it so they must be doing...

I stayed outside because I didn't have a valid i.d. but my two friends were in there about an hour or so and had a great time... People were nice, beer was cold, what more could oneself ask for?! :) I'm trying to type as much as I can to reach 200 characters and get extra points ;) lol istill recommend...
