If I could give NO STARS, I would. Horrible service, waited over an hour for food that was packaged TO GO when only a few things were ordered to go. We were not even told that all the food was packaged to go, it was only when we inquired about the food that it was then brought to our attention that it had been packaged to go. All the food was thrown haphazardly into containers, leaking out of the bag, macaroni salad under sandwiches making them nastier than they were already and soggy. Brought the food back to where we were staying only to find that the mussels and snapper we ordered were bad. The two people that ate the mussels vomited. Meatloaf that was ordered was drowned in gravy all over the container. Sandwiches were cold because they had been sitting in TO GO for who knows how long. Fries were soggy. Mussels were not even closed properly so the leaked in the bag. I was so distraught that I brought what I could salvage back to the restaurant and spoke to the "manager" Eva. This was after trying to call their phone for 30 minutes but it was busy, apparently it had been inadvertently disconnected. After she told me that she could not refund me right away, she promised me that she would, while muttering under her breath how she does not need this aggravation in her life. She gave me an office number to follow up with.
I called this number for follow up today and boy was I in for a surprise. I was not speaking with the "manager" Eva, I was speaking with her father now. So Daddy is telling me how I cannot have a full refund because I was loud, yelling and being rude in his establishment. The daughter went on to say that I was acting like a PITBULL! This cannot be further from the truth, and his "manager" daughter knows this too. I simply wanted what was fair, my money back for the horrible food and horrible service, and she promised me she would do this. She tried to void my transaction, which now she told me she voided the wrong transaction because I was making her flustered. If a dissatisfied customer makes her flustered, then she should not be in the restaurant business. She gave me her office number and assured me she would follow up with me. Like I said, I called today and it was a completely different story. I am so upset and disappointed, had a great time this weekend except for this disgusting little restaurant that I made sure to write this review so other people can steer clear...
Read moreI have never written a negative review in my entire life because I know what it’s like to run your own business and I know that we’re all just human but I am so shook after my experience at this diner that I had no choice. I simply want to warn others.
My mother and I arrived there at about 10:30 in the morning for breakfast and I went in to let the waitress know that we’ll be sitting outside with my dog. She said she’ll be right there and she did come right away and she asked if my dog was friendly. He doesn’t like to be petted which I communicated to her and said that he’s fine and that I got him. He didn’t make one sound throughout our meal just laying down by me. He’s a very well trained and well behaved giant schnauzer. Still, however, the server (she had blonde hair and her name is Kerry apparently) showed us attitude the entire time we were there.
We ordered our food which was fine (scrambled eggs were dry but my mom enjoyed her pancakes). The worst happened at the end when I asked for my check and for a box to go. The waitress didn’t even wait for me to finish my sentence and walked away, yelling that she doesn’t pack the food and that the check was on the table. The check with some change in it belonged to someone else so I went in to let her know that the check was, she murmured something and printed out another check which actually happened to be wrong as well because it didn’t list all the things that we had and she gave me wrong change. I pointed that out (the check was missing one item). She then literally threw the check at me, didn’t say thank you or sorry, nothing at all. I am not sure if it was because of my dog or because of my mother who is a foreigner but it deeply upset me. I still left her a tip, then called the diner to complain. The manger was nice and apologetic but didn’t even offer anything to compensate our disturbing experience. I have now read other reviews and it doesn’t come as a surprise that other people experienced racist behavior in that place. I will never go back there again. This totally ruined my day and my vacation. I’m from New York and we face a lot of crazy situations but this was nothing like I’d ever experienced before. I urge you not go there unless maybe you’re a local (a table next to us was clearly treated with friendliness and kindness). I’ve never been this disrespectful before and I’m sorry we...
Read moreWe came to Brios to celebrate my husband’s birthday and brought a cake my daughter had made. We were pleasantly greeted and a happy birthday was expressed. We were seated given water and many menus. There are a lot of options. We got our nachos quickly as an appetizer and asked for a few minutes before ordering. The one waitress started to get more and more tables and did not return to us for 20 minutes. They were clearly understaffed. She never apologized for the wait. We got the food fairly quickly, but she failed to warn my husband not to touch the cast iron pan and he burned his fingers pretty badly. My daughter did not get her garlic fries so we had to wait for them. No one cleared our plates for over an hour. We had to ask for plates for the cake from a non English speaking bus boy even though the waitress had said she’d bring them and he never took away the dirty dishes. The food was good, but not great. The service was terrible and the worst part was the check. There was a $10.00 service charge for having our own cake. When we questioned it she said her manager said $20 but she reduced it to $10! I advised her that not only is this information not on the menu or the website, but when she acknowledged the cake at our entrance we were not advised. She said that we should have known! I have worked in the restaurant industry for decades and have never encountered this. I asked to speak to the manager, who conveniently was not available. She ended up taking it off the bill, but never apologized for anything. This was the first and last time we will go to Brios because of the...
