China Garden — Restaurant in Town of Smithtown

The woman who is in charge is extremely rude. I asked if there was anything I'd get for free for spending over $30 for take out. She rushed to see the slip on my bag on the counter and replied " You have to spend over $35 " I replied " How much did I just spend for take out ?" She looks me straight in the eyes and says " $34.65"

I smile , thinking she's joking..but she wasn't. She didn't smile back and she walked towards the back yelling Chinese to the cooks , most likely telling them the next order.

I then said " every single Chinese restaurant on Long island will give you something for free if you spend over $20 , $25 , $30 ad so on...."

She responds with " Not on my restaurant " And than hand me my bag , and says " Any Sauce ?" I said No She says " see you next time " I reied with " No chance in hell "

And THAN .... I get home and take a bite out of my " chicken on a stick " And it's pink.. Cometely soggy and I basically puked all over my plate I will never go there again. I’ve been going to China Garden for over 10 years. Mostly the food was good over those 10 years but the service and prices have gotten so outrageously bad that I have had enough. First, they mess up my order at least 50 percent of the time. It’s so annoying and frankly unacceptable. Also they never apologize for it and never give you anything for your trouble if having to return. Speaking of cheap, they also raised the bar for free soup or soda after already raising their prices double digits for 5 years in a row. Not to mention they implemented a credit card surcharge. So, between their constantly messing up my order, not being apologetic or offering anything in return, raising prices way more than everyone else and taking away the threshold for a free food item I’m sick and tired of giving them my money. By the way i’ve hit the higher requirement so a free food item several times since they’ve raised the limit and they DONT tell you that you are entitled to something free unless you ask!! As it was right around the corner from where I live, I had to try it on Labor day. Ordered a single combination dish of chicken and garlic sauce with the pork fried rice. Both were delicious and had extra rice to save: ended up finishing it as a midnight snack. This is my new favorite takeout/delivery Chinese food. The ladies behind the counter made sure you got what you wanted and that you were being helped. Call in for takeout while shopping in meat farms, pack up car, pick up food which is next door in strip mall and then go home, put the perishables away then reward yourself with your delicious...
