One of the hardest things about moving from Queens to Long Island was having to say good-bye to my beloved pizza parlor of thirty plus years. But then I found this gem of a place. I have been enjoying their pizza for years now and just recently began using them to cater food for my church and for personal events such as my son's recent graduation party. Tony the owner sat down with me and went over all the details. He helped me with choices offering his guidance on what to order and how much to order. As he explained it "you want enough food for people to be able to eat and then pick throughout the evening". And he was right! I told him the number of guests I would be having and put it in his hands, and he gave me just the right amount of food to last into the night with almost no leftovers to clean up! Perfect!!!! And yes, it was delivered on time, and piping hot. The compliments regarding how delicious everything was kept coming, as everyone asked where I got the delicious food. I highly recommend Ciro's. They are the best of the best. Thank you, Tony and Sal, for making my son's party one to remember and for making my...
Read moreNot only is this the best tasting pizza I have had in years, outside of Manhattan, but the owners are incredibly nice and always have the most fresh pizza and other types of Italian food. If you place an order over the phone, they tell you the exact time to be there so your food is fresh and hot out of the oven when you arrive. I am partial to their regular cheese pizza, which has a delightfully crispy crust, well seasoned sauce and just the right amount of cheese. I also highly recommend their garlic knots, but have loved everything I have tried; from the different varieties of their pizzas, to their sandwiches, subs and salads. One of my favorite parts of going is walking into Ciro's pizza is being treated not only by the friendly, but businesslike owners and their employees, but also inhaling all of the delectable fragrances that immediately makes my mouth start to water. I highly recommend going for either a quick lunch, or to stop in to bring home a treat for a leisurely dinner. I hope you enjoy it as...
Read moreI grew up across the street from Ciro's and had the pleasure of ordering from them weekly for almost 20 years. Every pizza since has been compared to Ciro's.
The staff has always been personable and fun, making it enjoyable to stand by the counter and watch them make the pies.
Don't forget to add some garlic knots, a meatball parm hero and a sausage, peppers and onions hero to your order. The leftovers are just as delicious as they are the day they make them.
My parents and I still talk about the perfect crust, flavor and quality of both the round cheese pie and the Sicilian. You can't go wrong with ordering from Ciro's but beware, you won't enjoy pizza from anywhere else the same way again.
I hate that we moved away, but you can bet anytime we're on Long Island, we're coming...
