My review of Chic-Fil-A Smithtown opening night.
I give it 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This review will not talk about the food which was just as expected from a fast food chicken place. This is a review about how a properly run restaurant runs its business.
I saw on one of my local FB groups, a gentleman make a post that stated “he placed a mobile order and was in and out in 15 minutes”. I asked the family if they wanted Chic-Fil-a for dinner, that I would drive up there and get the food. It’s opening night of a brand new restaurant so I was expecting to wait 30 minutes or so, even after seeing the post about 15 minutes. I took everyone’s order, punched it into the app and away I went.
On my way to the restaurant I made almost every light and was quite pleased with the quickness that I arrived.
When I arrive I see the line for mobile orders is wrapped all the way around the other building to the Dunkin’ Donuts. So I get on the end of the line and start the timer on my phone to see how long this is actually going to take.
As the stopwatch is counting to 9 minutes I had moved forward 2 car spaces. Start thinking to myself this is going to take awhile. The picture below was after I was in line around 15 minutes.
After 30 minutes there are now 5 cars in front of me. I’m watching people come out of the restaurant and they are standing at the cars for about 5 minutes talking to the people in the car. I start wondering to myself why is it taking so long to give an order number, why is this person still standing at the car.
Finally at the 35 minute mark an employee walks up to my car and states that unfortunately the computers are down and I am going to have to tell her the entire order which she is writing down on a piece of cardboard to bring inside and then get my order. Although slightly annoyed I repeat to her the entire $70 order that is on my phone just as I finish another man comes up and asks for my credit card which I hand over. Now both employees walk back into the building.
About a minute later the employee who took my card came back handed me my card and said “sorry for the inconvenience, your meal is on us tonight”.
I’ve had chic-fil-a 2 times previous in my life and was not overly impressed. Tonight I was impressed at the level of service, that this restaurant recognized that waiting 54 minutes (that was the time the food was handed to me from the time I first got online) to receive fast food is unacceptable. They made this right by comping the whole meal and making me a Chic-a-file for life.

Read moreThis was my very first time dining here. First and foremost, the bathrooms are spotless. I came in during the dinner rush and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by a young man named Jake who recommended the kale salad. It was fabulous! He explained that I could place my order to dine in and if I scanned the qr code on the table, he would bring it to me. How awesome! Especially after a long day, how nice was that?
Not long after, a young lady named Bella asked me if I would like a refill of my lemonade. I was delighted.
The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. My lemonade was made just right. Not too tart and not too sweet!
I ordered a multigrain brioche bun on a chicken sandwich. It was well seasoned and satisfying. The kale side salad was fabulous. It came with chopped almonds and already had a light vinegarette dressing. Once again, delicious!
There is plenty of parking. The tables were spotless and the restaurant very clean. Elena, the manager, stopped to chat with me. I shared with her that I have over 78 million views of my reviews and am in the top 10% of restaurant reviewers on Google.
