Dunkin' — Restaurant in Town of Smithtown

Have had multiple friends who’s children have worked at this store the last few years and all say the same- management is crazy, and unfair. I had only been to this store a few times as it is out of the way from my house, but two days ago I found myself here on the way to a friend’s house for brunch. I stopped to pick up some donuts and munchkins as well as some coffee and was fine with what i was given. It was the scene set in this store and the atmosphere that set me out to write this. The manager (or who I assume to be- blonde woman dressed differently than the other workers) was screaming at employees and complaining about them to the other customers. It was appalling to listen to her speak, it ripped my heart out for these poor girls who couldn’t have been any older than 18. She was calling them the R slur and stupid. They all looked miserable and upset. I get that this is a minimum wage establishment oftentimes run by younger people, but if that was my child having to endure being yelled at the way I heard those kids get yelled at, I would hope someone would do something about it. I hope that whomever is above this woman sees this and does something…do better...

I went in to get a donut. When I went in, no one was at the front counter. Had to wait a couple minutes, which is no issue. The person who eventually came to help me was on their phone, had to wait for her to get off her phone, and then she took my order. Then, she went and got my donut, without even cleaning her hands before touching my food and bag. Touching the white piece of paper to help get the donut and then putting that in the bag as well is extremely unsanitary when you've been on your phone right before. I threw the donut out. Then, I went to tell them about this. The woman who rang me up lied and told me her phone was charging in the back when I literally saw her on her phone right before she took my order. I then asked to speak with a manager, and they said no one was available at the time. I will grant that the other 2 people I dealt with about the situation were nice and professional. I understand people make mistakes, but do not lie about something that a customer literally saw. If you are going to ring people up and give them food, clean your hands before doing so. I will never go back to this location - other Dunkin Donuts in the area have better...

The employees at this location are wonderful, there are a couple of them that have been here a while that know our order as soon as we walk in and have our coffee ready to go. I’m rating 3 stars because they seem to be having an issue with people calling out or not showing up for their shifts, which results in only the drive through being open during THE BUSIEST TIME OF THE DAY for coffee. It’s infuriating for the customers and I’m sure the poor employee that gets stuck by themselves working the drive through. We don’t like the go through the drive through bc they never really get the coffee quite right, and it’s a long wait because of the amount of people waiting on line since there’s a single person working. The manager or owner of this location really needs to get a grip on their employees and hire new ones that will show up for work. Typically I wouldn’t complain, but when it’s happened 5 times in the last month and you’re a regular customer who gets their coffee here every morning it gets old pretty quick.
