On 7/22/17 I arrived at Out of the Blue for dinner with three friends. We were told that the wait would be about 30 minutes. We gave them our name and waited by the door. When my name was called we approached the counter and were told that we were unable to be seated since there were no chairs. Apparently people had moved the chairs from tables that had extra chairs to smaller tables that needed chairs to accommodate tables sitting more than the table could hold, (table for two seating three to four people). When people were finished with their dinner and left others would take the chairs leaving the table with no chairs. At this point a table for four had no chairs and a table for two had no chairs and a family of four was sitting at a table for two and a table for two had three people sitting at it. We then decided to get take out. I got my order after 20 minutes. Friend #1 got his after another 20 minutes. Friend #2 got hers after another 10 minutes and friend #3 got his, after someone who came in and waited 10 minutes, got his 10 minutes later. By time we got home my order was cold and my french fries were like rubber as was #2's, and #3's. Number 4's was not what she ordered. I think most of the issues with this place is, A- There should be someone who can control the situation of running a establishment like this. B- If a group of people come in and they have more then four people they should have to eat outside on the picnic benches. C- If three or four people come in sit them at a table for four, keep the chairs in place, so chairs don't get used at tables that accommodate two. D- When people put their order in they should all ready be seated this way the table number goes on the order ticket, so that the server does not have to go around for ten minutes looking for them. I neither own or have owned a eating establishment, but I do have...
Read moreI really like seafood but my husband is not a fan… We really like Out of the blue because they have options to satisfy both of us. On Saturday 8/27/2016 we stopped by for an evening meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and non-pretentious, the new ownership seems to focus on quality and freshness rather than fluff. I am a stickler for cleanliness and the restaurant and market are clean. My husband had a fantastic medium rare burger and waffle fries, the burger was cooked to perfection: nice and juicy. I chose from the daily specials on the board and tried the Lobster bread pudding; it was just the comfort food I needed, oozing with butter and mushrooms with lots of lobster chunks. I found the prices reasonable for the size of the servings and the quality we got. Before leaving we bought a few items from the market: I got some octopus pasta sauce for me, and the kale and basil pesto for my hubby, I also got a tin of blackening spices to use on chicken and fish. I have not used the spices yet but highly recommend the octopus pasta sauce and the basil...
Read moreCame here on holiday for some seafood this 4th. I’ve been here many occasions and every time the food was great. This year I’m sorry I can’t say the same. We had a lobster bake and the lobster was undercooked and had many of its innards quite mushy and fishy. We also had the clam chowder and it wasn’t hot and just merely warm, quite heavy on the cream and the clams had sand in them. We also ordered some wild rice, which I loved in the past, but the grains this time were quite hard and dried, definitely need more water. The steam shrimps were overcooked as well and were too firm, no snap that fresh shrimps texture should taste. Maybe it’s because they were busy on a holiday, but that’s no excuse for serving a not so appealing lobster for its customers, considering the cost of a lobster bake is somewhere around $80 to $90. Im quite disappointed in their food quality overall and I hope the next time I go back the food quality...
