I just moved to the area and am in search of a good pizza place. The search continues… We had relatives visiting to see the new place and didn’t have the resources to cook available just yet. We ordered two pies and two salads on a Thursday evening at 5:30 to feed our guests. We were told it would be delivered in 45-60 minutes. An hour came and went. An hour and a half went by and we called to check on our order. The man who answered the phone confirmed, “oh I see you called at 5:31. Yeah it’s been a while.” I would have just canceled the order at that point because the delivery time was already double what we were told, but one elderly relative needs to take his medication with food so we didn’t cancel. The food finally arrived at 7:40. Finally! Pizza! We were all happy just to have dinner! Only to open the boxes to discover cold, doughy, undercooked pizza. It was inedible. we called to express our dissatisfaction and again, the man who answered the phone could not be bothered. When we told him we don’t normally post any negative reviews for anything, his response was, “yeah well, do what you gotta do.” Almost $90 for two cold pizzas and two salads and a two and a half hour wait with no explanation and no apology is no way to do business. If anyone knows of a good pizza place in the area, please...
Read moreThis is a very solid lunch spot or take-out dinner spot. Take it from me, an italian man who regularly eats great homemade italian food, it hits the spot when you are in the mood for italian, pizza or just craving something with sauce. You are not gunna sit there and be like "this is the best pizza ever" or "wow this is gourmet italian food" but you will take your first bite of whatever you order, nod your head in approval as you chew and say "this is actually pretty good, I'd come back here". It's a place where you will probably tell a co-worker to go when they ask you for lunch suggestions. The people inside are great too. They range from your 'heavy duty italian uncle' type who likes to call you "Boss" all the time, to the shy cousin that sits at the table who never says a word but is a good boy and helps clean up the table. If you don't know what I'm talking about when I say that, then your loss but you can go to Tonino's and see it for yourself and be like "ahhh i get it now". Either way, it's a good vibe and you are treated well. Overall good experience and I plan to come back.
If you are thinking about going to Tonino's or Whitney's Deli (located in the same strip), just get the pizza. More bang for your buck than that...
Read moreOn 8-22-23 we ordered a full tray of salad plus garlic breads and 2 pizzas. We were very surprised that the salad we got, mostly lettuce with a strip of shredded carrots and chopped up black olives was $95 plus tax. I did speak to Tony on the phone and he seemed to have all the answers to why it is that much. After the fact, I found out that similar trays could be gotten for $50 and up to $65. Our son lives in a place that Tonino's is the closest to him and so, he purchased it without realizing it till after it was delivered. Sorry to give Tonino's of West Hampton not such a good review but some of your customers do work hard for their money as some of your workers and you do too, but still the price for this salad is really set up much too high for what was in it. No tomatoes, onions, radishes, maybe 5 slices of cucumbers and nothing more execpt for the decorative carrots and black olives. Sincerely ...
