Mojo Market — Restaurant in Town of Tonawanda

As a coffee shop lover, Mojo Market certainly has made itself to the list of the aesthetic and attractive shops that make one always want to come back to sit and relax with their drink as they listen to the ambience of espresso and bustling orders. I always order either a matcha latte or a latte with almond milk or a regular latte and I absolutely love that they make their own nut milks. The drinks were wonderful and their food is also good. However, there’s the question of why I rated 4 stars instead of 5. And the answer is waiting time. It approximately took 20 minutes to make 3 drinks (simple and common) and in my opinion, that is a very long waiting time, especially at a time where there was not much traffic in the shop. I have ordered from both the window service and inside and the waiting time was both very long. In window service, I got the opportunity to see their espresso machine in action and technique. As an espresso aficionado and barista myself, they were being rather impractical in handling the making of multiple drinks and the time they spent on one is certainly unjustified. One of the drinks I ordered was a latte and it is one of the most common espresso based drinks ever. The espresso and steaming of milk did not follow the strict and tedious art form therefore confused as to the long waiting time. Side note, their coffee is certainly better than large coffee chain shops like Starbucks and the strict espresso rules is not an expectation for every coffee shop. From my own experience, their coffee is good. I would still come back but waiting will become a larger issue for the business and I would love to see it...

I wanted so much to like this place! I have stopped for just coffee which was fine, to go. However, my husband and I stopped in for an early lunch today and the service was not good. We ordered an iced coffee drink and an Americano, it took 20 minutes for those to come out. The place wasn't all that busy. We finished our drinks, most of the chips that were supposed to have gone with our lunch and were still waiting on food over 30 minutes later. We asked them to cancel the order if it hadn't started to be made yet, which they did. They told us the drinks were on the house,which was nice, we left a tip on the table. As we left another person that was working there loudly asked if we were "the people walking out". She asked in a way that shocked me, given we had already settled up with our waitress and made me question her desire to shout at us as we left.

Honestly, it wasn't just the longer wait for our food, but multiple things that served as the push for us to leave. My glass had an obvious chapstick lipgloss mouth mark on it, the waitress carrying the water pitchers had the lip for one practically in her underarm, watched another couple eat separately due to the man's order not coming out timely. Another table walked up and got all their food after us (again, making me realize ours hadn't even been started yet).

Either way, it stinks is what I am saying. I really wanted to love it. I can see stopping in for a coffee and leaving to get food elsewhere, but that's about it...

This family owned and operated establishment is a delightful gem for the Village of Kenmore. The owners create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere with their kind hearts and wise minds. They understand that healthy eating and loving community are pillars of health and good living.

Their staff is wonderful and make going to Mojo as valuable as the scrumptious, heathy prepared food, fresh juices, espresso and grocery items offered.

Much of their eclectic grocery is from NY State ranging from milk and honey to eggs and fermented vegetables with a ton in between. The strawberry jam bars are like sweet manna from Heaven. But don't you dare take the last bar before we get there lol. They even have Mountain Valley Water and Chaga mushrooms and extract!

Chaga has an ORAC value of 52,000 giving it the highest antioxidant level of known edibles. The Otzi and the Iceman who lived over 5000 years ago knew chaga was a powerful herbal medicine.
