I tried their for vegetarian tacos. For $12 I thought it was an incredible value for some very good food and a nice variety of flavors. I will say that the taco shells were more dry than I was expecting, but I believe that was my own fault for not being used to that style of cooking. Previously I've been most familiar with fast food tacos and not practically authentic ones. However, it is worth noting that they do not put any sauce inside the tacos. There is a little toppings bar off to the side and I strongly encourage folks to make liberal use of that, not just because it's a great value but because these tacos really need some elements to bring a little moisture into play. Again, this isn't a complaint this is how it's supposed to be done I just wasn't in on that fact at first. Sincerely very, very good food and I will definitely be back for more! Overall I strongly recommend.
I'm not going to lie, if you're looking for ambiance this isn't necessarily the place I would recommend. There is a lot more floor space than there are tables so while there was plenty of seating when I went I don't know how it would be during peak hours. It's very festive with a definite Mexican flare and a family run business kind of vibe. Many people may be looking for exactly that kind of experience. However, there are definitely a few unpolished edges. As a sensory experience I found it to be a lot. I'm sure that someone with a greater tolerance for sensory input would love this atmosphere but I can't say it was...
Read moreUpdate: 3/21/24 Used to be... BEST. TACOS. IN. BUFFALO. Seriously friendly and authentic staff, atmosphere, food. No frills, just quality tacos. Love love love the new tilapia taco. They even have a veggie taco and a quesadilla for vegetarians and kids. This is my go-to spot. (Update) The barbacoa barely has pineapple now. And the puerco is super greasy now. All the taco shells are whimpy. And no more aloe drinks are available. Plus, the other customers have changed: secret is out, and worse and worse mannered people are flocking in. Today, a crazy looking middle-aged man dressed in what looked like wanna be graffiti screamed out, "Does queso mean cheese?!" Where have you been living, bro, and why are you so ignorant and obnoxious? And where is the big man that used to run this place? He was the best. No one at check out asks about adding ons for sour cream or QUESO to tacos, and no one cares anymore like the big guy did. This place is going downhill FAST. Faster then runny QUESO. 11/24 0 pineapple in barbacoa. Still tasty, but prices go up and up, while quality is very slowly waning. Steak is more fatty, chicken is not cubed but ground and dry. The tamales are half their old size, and mostly cornmeal, barely any filling. 😬. Still good for a quick bite, and birria tacos hit. Everything else compared to the actual way it used to be isn't the same. Please bring back...
Read moreThis is what you need to know, when you come to La Divina Mexican Store. Contrary to what their sign says, they are not a grocery store. The best way to describe this place is, calling it a true hole in the wall. Entering into the so called store, you automatically feel like your in a frontier country. This is the type of place when your away on vacation, and you ask the locals where they eat at. So you leave the hotel or resort your staying at. You walk through a few rough neighborhoods, cut through those wet dingy alleys you see in the movies. Then just when you think your lost, that's when you see La Divina. So you can see, this place is far from fancy. You can eat inside, they have a few tables. The menu is on a chalkboard, behind the register. The drinks are all behind you, in the fridgerator cases. Today I ordered the birria tacos, and Tai had the chicken along with barbacoa tacos. I never heard of a birria taco before, especially a taco you dip into it's own au jus sauce. My take on is taco is, it's a hearty taco and is actually pretty good. These fried tacos come, with nothing but beef and cheese. I enjoyed my taco more, when I top it off with the condiments from the condiment stand. The fresh onions, cilantro, and salsa, gave this taco a fresh compliment. I will becoming back on those days, when I want to eat what...
