A friend and I were looking for a new place to have a meal. Soooooo, we came upon Romeo and Juliette's and thot let's try here. First is the walk in and surveille...ok...it's quiet as it's in betweeen lunch and dinner. Perfect as it's what I needed to relax. I despise a loud place when I need to enjoy a good meal and conversation with a friend, family member, spouse, etc. I didn't expect to be as pleased as I was. Its small and cozy. The waitress didnt seem too pleasant at first. My bad...i scrutinize everything. Anyway, we were seated in the perfect spotbi myself was eyeballing. A table along a far wall and away from other patrons. Just to have conversation not In earshot. Nothing special...just chatting with my friend. I found an outlet to charge my phone next to my chair which was great as it needed charging before we'd be finished with our meal. The waitress who turned out to be the co owner/wife was closest to the perfect waitress as in not in our face constantly, but just often enough to know when we needed a beverage refill, or to ask bbn if needed. Meal was very timely.i didn't get a photo of what I partook of, but did so of the desserts. The atmosphere was very calming, colorful in a comforting way. The music was fabulous as it was Italian and as well had older music from varied times but classics like Sinatra, Michael Buble', and many others I enjoyed altho wasn't sure of the names. The lighting was lower so as nit yo ve blinding like a cafeteria. Seating was /is comfortable. Table is a perfect size and height. There's a beautiful fireplace as well which seals the atmosphere comfort. The decor is of wine and scenery, etc. Could use an array of plants but that's just my likes. Ya know...a big rubber tree plant in each corner. Large flowering hanging plants that don't require bright light. And id love a nice candle center piece on each table with battery operated flame to keep safe from the carcinogens that burn off the wick and make us ill. Plants that clean the air. Ok enough of my particular likes. They should be 4xs the siize as it's in need of feeding the multitudes so to speak. You all need to go and eat there and meet Jenna.shell make uour visit a great one. I'm definitely patronizing this lovely restaurant again soon...with more friends and or family. I brought a meal home to my father also and...
Read moreALWAYS loved it and the great service until last visit. I called in for a pizza and was told 35 min which means they are crazy busy. I came to pick up order 37 minutes later and was greeted right away at counter, cashed out and told "the pizza is in the oven right now so it shouldn't be much longer". NO problem I don't mind. Meanwhile, take out people come in, get their food and leave. Servers say nothing to me or even engage in eye contact THIS goes on until the ONE hour point in which I grab a busy waitress who had nothing to do with my order and explain it had been one hour and I had been told a while ago that the pizza was in the oven. She very politely said she would check which I appreciated greatly as she had nothing to do with order. About five minutes later she brings me my pizza and says, "sorry for the wait" then asks if I was cashed out already. I confirmed I was "a while ago" and left. BIG mistake! Got home to discover they had placed FOUR THICK COMPLETELY RAW SLICES OF EGGPLANT ON MY PIZZA AFTER WAITING OVER AN HOUR. Here is the thing, I would have been fine if someone had said my order mistakenly didn't get in. I would have been fine with someone saying, "We are out of cooked eggplant do you mind waiting longer or can we get you something else?" BUT no, I didn't even have anyone follow up or address the situation until I involved the server that was not involved in the order. I have given this site (Tonawanda) regular business for years. Loved the food and the service. Now I can HONESTLY say I will never go back-(most definitely) not because of a wait, or human error, but because they showed a lack of character and appretiation for loyalty. Placing slabs of raw eggplant on top of my pizza was deliberate. All I would say to Romeo and Juliets now is they mistook friendliness for foolishness and as a result lost a loyal customer. I won't be back nor will I continue to recommend them and suggest them among the many communities I am involved with. CHARACTER is...
Read moreAbsolute best pizza in Buffalo if we judge quality of ingredients, flavor, gut feeling after eating, and price in that order.
Ingredient quality is top notch; smaller portions, but it comes with the semi-gourmet territory, you still come out full. The tomato sauce is debatably the most impressive part, with a noticeable red wine tinge and small bits of tomato among seasonings.
Flavor is the most satisfactory part of the whole pie, with the most captivating blend of flavors a pizza can offer (the pepperoni have a lot to do with that)
I guarantee you will never have stomach ache coming out of a Romeo and Juliette's, their pizzas included. I have always come out feeling better than when I came in.
Now the price might be the best surprise yet; I'll illustrate that through my average experience ordering there: Come in, order take out: a pizza with cheese, pepperoni, minced garlic, and 1/2 banana peppers and an eclair with half whipped cream and half custard (oh god, yes yes yes.) Wait all of 15 - 20 minutes and walk out with two works of culinary arts for UNDER TWENTY DOLLARS.
Until a freak storm of godly proportions happens on Friday the 13th during a full, blue moon as the planets align under the Northern Lights, creating the one true pizza, Romeo and Julet's will enjoy their rule as king for...
