Cugini's — Restaurant in Town of Trenton

The Pizza is closer to NYC style than most upstate places & I would definitely get their pizza again because let's face it - there isn't much competition upstate. If in the Utica area I suggest just going with the best upstate style pizza - which I believe to be Trios in NY Mills. That said Cugini's is fine - a good option esp if you are in the Barneveld area. Now it is not truly fine NYC style pizza but let's keep in mind that truly fine pizza is rare even in NYC. Here is what could be improved: While the crust is thinner than most upstate places it is still not thin or crisp enough. (The best ever is Vezzo's @ 178 Lexington NY NY - but that's a few hundred miles away! ) They could also improve the cheese topping by using high quality cheeses but that would probably lead to a noticeable increase in price to customers. Maybe offering a premium option for serious cheese lovers ?? They can get very busy and they don't always have the capacity to answer the phone. The counter staff was pretty annoyed with my 7:40 pm arrival the other night; they close at 8 pm. However the pizza maker (who I am guessing might be the owner or manager) told her to take my order. This is our family’s go to spot. If you’re not from the area I would understand why you haven’t had this place before. But where do I begin, the pepperoni pizza is incredible. The pepperoni has a nice little kick the doe a little crunch, the cheese flavorful and tasty, and the sauce is nice and sweet to complement the rest. However that’s not even the star of the show! The chicken wings are amazing crispy crunch to the outside and beautiful juicy tender chicken on the inside. The sauces I’ve tried have all been amazing on the wings. From the Garlic, to the medium or mild. If you have a kick for spice go with the hot wings for sure. And if your feeling spontaneous go for the everything thing wings, you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere in the shop is amazing nice and clean places to sit and eat. Oh and did I mention they have tenders and fries for the little ones that are picky. We were very frequent local customers who deal with the common issues as the price of doing business. Our last one however was the breaking point.

We ordered two meals by phone, one being a fish sandwich and we are asked to hold while they check to verify they have fish.

Fish is confirmed and the order is placed.

We show up 30 min later to pick up the orders. Upon arrival they confirm the order and we make payment.

After payment we are told there is no fish and are asked what we want instead like this wasn’t a take out order.

We questioned how this could happen and were met with the owner (Dana) who was extremely rude and essentially told us what do we expect her to do.

Literally not a single apology, like our time and inconvenience meant nothing.

We were asked what else we wanted and when we were not content a cash refund for the fish was...
