Main Street Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Tupper Lake

We stumbled across this little diner on our trip to the Adirondacks. Nice ambience from outside. Lots of parking. Went in and were immediately greeted. Sat in a booth and got our drink orders right away. We had the fish fry and it was good. We were impressed with the house salad- the freshest we've had in a long while. Didn't have to wait long to be served. The bathrooms were very clean and that always tells you that if their bathrooms are clean so is the kitchen! While we were there it was busy and a party came in of 8. They had 6 extra come later and we saw them really try to accommodate them all by reaarranging tables. Nice to see. Very nice little place on Main Street in Tupper Lake. Its on the West End and if you are coming in from the west it is pretty hard to see until you are past it. Food is good, homecooked local fare. And just about a bit of everything, pizza...check, burgers...check, roast turkey...check, you name it they have it on the menu. Despite what other reviews said, I think the prices were great. $8 for a burger or clubhouse. Haddock fillet that was so big there is no way one person could finish it and the selection of pies for desert was endless. Every time we are in the area we like to stop here and up till yesterday we have always had a great experience. I understand that the hospitality world is struggling right now and I’ve been in the business for over 20 years so I get it. But the food was terrible and the service wasn’t much better. Simple things were forgotten silverware, lemons for waters, dinner salads. Booth behind us walked out because after 20 minutes no one came over to them. Wait staff seemed more interested in counting their tips then checking on tables.The Alfredo sauce had no taste and was very lumpy. Our burger was suppose to be Mrs. rare but came very well done.
