We didn't have a reservation but they nicely managed to squeeze us in. The gnocchi app was very good. Crispy outside and a nice gooey center, I would order these again. The aloi they serve with this is pretty bland though and could use more flavor. The drinks were well-done, the bartender was spot on. A down side was that the arnchini had NO gooey cheese, maybe no cheese at all from the look of it and was bland. For $18 for 4 rice balls I would have expected them to at least be well seasoned. They do offer you complimentary bread and a seasoning plate with olive oil, roasted garlic, parmigiano, and balsamic drizzle. As well as a few of their house pickles. We also had the Sea Bass and their "famous burger" which was pretty dry and needed a sauce. Our waitress was nice but I think most of the staff caters to the regulars so we felt somewhat unwelcome. The whipped butter that comes with the baked potato was a nice touch. The lobster bisque is very large and luxurious (a meal itself) The French onion soup is ridiculous good with a mountain of melted cheese. They were out of their bacon wrapped figs which we have gotten before and really liked. I gave the atmosphere a 3 because things are somewhat dated, parking isn't the greatest, seating is tight, the space is dark and you feel like you really need to be a regular there ( like once a week) kind of customers to be appreciated. We live about an hour away from the restaurant so we.dont go often but like to go at least every few months or so to try new items.

We ate at 5:00 on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy but began to fill up shortly after. Service was well timed from bread, to side salad, to entrees, we only sat hungry for the few minutes after we ordered. The server brought regular bread for my husband and gluten free bread for me - it was worth asking for. A nice doughy gf bread lightly toasted on one side with sesame seeds on the crust. I would have wanted more if I didn’t need to save room for my meal. Salads were fresh with what seemed like homemade dressing - my husband says it was maybe the best blue cheese dressing he’s had. He ordered the Lobster and Crab Risotto which looked like an entire lobster worth of meat, plus crab and healthy portion of risotto. Gluten free items were marked out clearly and there were plenty of options that I had a hard time choosing. I went with the Prime Rib (House Cut 16oz.) Paulie style (crab, blue cheese, balsamic). The cut was huge, almost 2 inches thick and filled the very large plate. For 16oz of prime rib it was money very well spent. Cooked perfectly and great blend of flavors with the Paulies topping. I’ll be eating it for days. The last time we ate here I had the stuffed peppers and found them underwhelming and lacking the vegetables that were listed in the ingredients - maybe a bad day for stuffed peppers. It had me hesitant to come back, but I would not hesitate to come back for more Prime Rib.

This place is a hidden gem and was ABSOLUTELY amazing. 10/10! Definitely worth every penny since you are paying for the exceptional service and the high quality dishes. You can tell these chefs truly care about the quality of their food rather than quantity. I was truly impressed. My fiancé and I have been dining all around the world for several years when we were both active duty, eating several great beef Wellingtons and the chef here created this to absolute perfection. The best medium rare Wellington by far is surprisingly here, right at home. ❤️ ***Make sure to call a week or two in advance to special order this dish.*** We came here for the very first time celebrating my fiancés birthday dinner and this establishment exceeded far beyond any expectations we had. Not to mention the service was above and beyond, as the hot towels after dinner was a wonderful cozy detail. Amanda was our fabulous waitress and she was so friendly, attentive, and inviting which made the atmosphere that much more enjoyable. Wow, what a amazing asset to the team here and what a terrific fine dining establishment.

Ten of us had a 6:00 reservation for a birthday celebration on a Weds night at McCoy's. First time for me & hubby. I regularly review restaurants but never with such length & rate most 4 or 5 stars. However, due to the “fine dining” status of this restaurant, I felt more detail was necessary. This is the consensus of all of us.

First Impressions: The parking lot is behind the restaurant. The back entrance has many holes in the pavement & is an accident waiting to happen. One miss-step & down someone goes. When you enter through the back door, you go up 4-5 stairs to the main floor. They seemed to be off kilter & were difficult to navigate. Also, the stairs & short hallway to the restaurant are covered with a rug that is nasty dirty and smells moldy & musty.

We were greeted by a waitress who showed us to the back room reserved for our party. The room was relatively small but had plenty of space for us. Six of us arrived at approximately 5:45. The restaurant only had 3 or 4 tables with patrons. After about 15 min, we were asked if we wanted a drink. Two others had arrived by then so we ordered wine, soda & lemon wedges for the water already on the table. After another 15-20 minutes we finally received the drinks but no lemon. At that time the last two of our party arrived & ordered a mixed drink & wine. We reminded the waitress that we hadn't received the lemon. After several more reminders & more than 30 minutes later, the drinks were finally delivered AFTER our meals were served! We still did not get any lemon! The waitress kept blaming it on the bartender & that he was so busy he was “doing them right now”! Not a good start!

Food: I heard that the Greek Chicken was delicious. $40 for chicken is pricey but all entrees were at least $26 so what the heck. 4 of us had the chicken - it was good. Local Greek restaurants are just as good for much less than $40! The rest of the party had a variety of dishes & the best I heard from any of them was “it's good” or “it's OK”. No “delicious" or “excellent". Some of them were well over $50. A few had French onion soup & said it was delicious. Once we recd our meals, many had a lemon wedge on the top of the food. It became a joke that we could use those to put in the water! The lemon finally arrived about 90 min after the first request.

Service: Where do I begin? Our waitress seemed fine in the beginning even with the slow service of our drinks. She agreed prior to everyone arriving that the check be divided down the middle of the table. When she came to take our orders, she asked if there would be separate checks! We had JUST spoken to her about 2 checks & had sat at the tables exactly as they were to be divided! Prior to taking orders, one guest asked about Chicken Cordon Bleu. It wasn't on the menu but she had had it several times at McCoy's Number 5 and was hoping they could make it for her at his Chophouse. The waitress never returned to let her know if it was possible. When she came to take our orders, we asked again. Back to the kitchen to find out. When she returned she said the chef could make Cordon Bleu. Upon hearing this, another guest requested it as well. “I don't know! I only asked about 1!” Again, back to the kitchen & yes, 2 can be made. Both requested risotto as the side. The Cordon Bleu was the same $40 as the Greek but we were charged $13 ea for the sides of risotto!! Prior to 6:00, the waitress & another server agreed to us purchasing a whole chocolate torte for a celebration dessert. We asked for it to be topped with fruit & whipped cream & have it served once dinner was complete. After dinner the waitress came in & asked if anyone would like dessert! We said yes with a wink & when she came back with a tray of many diff desserts, we had to specifically remind her about the torte. It is now 8:30 & the element of surprise had definitely passed. We asked to have the dessert to go & were given small plain pieces of torte. No fruit or whipped cream!

All in all, the atmosphere, service & quality of food was mediocre at best for the very...

McCoy's Chophouse is a restaurant me and my husband love going too! We've Been going there and the number 5 for years! when it was Lampy's! we would go for birthdays, other Special Occasion's and Just Because! 2 to 3 times a month! On April 10th 2022 we went for dinner, We was just there 2 weeks Prior! I always get the little neck raw clams for 1 of my appetizers, When the clams came out I knew immediately they wasn't little necks. They also smelled really Fishy! and some looked like they were Bad!!! and the waitress didn't let me know they wasn't little necks until i asked her! Hesitant to eat them cause like I said some of them looked really bad! but i never had a problem before so I attempted to eat some. I ate 3 of the ones that looked good, when I went to eat a 4th I Spit it out it was disgusting!!! So I told the waitress and the manager came over and offered to open a new box and give me another order for free of charge! But i was already turned off from the 1st batch.I then ordered the crab cakes which i had 2 to 3 weeks Prior! which was really Delicious! But these ones was filled with so much stuffing you couldn't even taste the crab in it! I also Got the lampy Scampy and the batter that was on the shrimp was so Soggy! It wasn't enjoyable! at all.... so I packed it up and took it home to give it another try an I ended up tossing it! Never have I had such a bad experience at this restaurant! But I guess there's a 1st time for everything! To Top it off! I had Noticed the last time we was there our bill seemed Very higher than usual! like I said we come there often. But at that time I didn't look over the check our Bill was $180.00 which we tipped $40 on that bill...But When the bill came out this time! I decided to look it Over! Glad I Did! Come to find that the waitress was charging us for Double Shots!!! When we were only getting Singles!!!! she also Went as far to Charge us $50 for the special of the Day, When it It was Only $35.00 and me and my husband knew that couldn't be the price! so of course the manger apologized and fixed the check to what it was suppose to be! So On That Note!!! Make Sure You Double Check Your Check! Because You Might Get...

On Friday I went to McCoy's Chophouse for my birthday lunch with my daughter. The waiter spills two drinks on me. I’m shocked but I keep my cool because I could never work in food service. Another patron says “Way to keep your cool. I would’ve have been able to” you’ve guessed right- he was an older yt man. The reality is I couldn’t afford to “lose my cool”. As a Black woman we can’t lose our cool except we be labeled aggressive and angry.

It was my birthday so I just tried to move along. In all my years of going out to eat I have never had a drink spilled on me much less two at the same time. They comped our drinks which added up to $27 only AFTER me asking. If y’all have been to McCoy’s you know it’s easily $75/pp. I did not think this was sufficient at all given the situation. I’ve had my entire meal comped for way less and I’ve had the manager come over personally to check on things after rectifying the situation. None of those things happened. I paid my bill and left a tip. I filled out my comment card and as I was walking out I asked to speak to the manager. I barely said one line and he SNATCHES the comment card out of my hand as waves me off. I calmly ask him if he thinks it’s appropriate to snatch things from people. He says that he will comp my meal at this point. He voids the transaction and brings me my receipt and tip. I give him back the tip and tell him “ Give him his tip. It’s your job to make sure the customer leaves satisfied- NOT HIM”

I was not overly upset that he spilled the drinks but I was very upset obviously because it was my birthday. The callous dismissive manner in which he dealt with me and the way he met even my initial comment with disdain wreaked of racism. Ofcourse we were the only Black people in the restaurant. All I wanted was some lamb. I don’t plan on ever eating there again and...
