TaWandTalk Food Review: Oaks Inn - A Culinary Celebration
Yesterday, I received some phenomenal news that called for a celebration & what better way to honor a win than, with an exquisite dining experience at Oaks Inn, the finest Italian restaurant in the Southern Tier region. Trust me, it’s TaWandTalk Approved! ❤️💯👊
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm smile of hostess Anne Marie & truly treated like family. The atmosphere was inviting, setting the perfect tone for an exceptional evening. My waitress, Alina, was simply stunning & provided a world-class dining experience that I'll cherish forever.
Bread & Olive Oil: First up was the freshly baked bread served with herbs and olive oil. It was fluffy and light, almost like marshmallow pillows for your palate. I could have feasted on just that! 🍞
Course One - Chicken Soltimbocca Meatballs: Next came the Chicken Soltimbocca meatballs, delicately infused with cheese, prosciutto, mushrooms, and a delightful wine sauce. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more.
Course Two - Caesar Salad: Then, the Caesar salad arrived—crispy romaine hearts, perfectly shaved cheese, and the crispiest garlic croutons. Honestly, it was the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. It was fresh, vibrant, and utterly satisfying. 🥗
Main Course - Homemade Lasagna: The pièce de résistance was the homemade lasagna. Layered to perfection, with rich, savory flavors that transported me straight to Italy. Every forkful was pure comfort. 🍽
Dessert - Bourbon Banana Pie: To cap off the night, I indulged in the bourbon banana pie. It was the kind of dessert that makes you smile with every bite—a sweet, boozy delight that was simply unforgettable. 🥧
With a total bill of $50.47 & a $50 tip for the exceptional service, I left Oaks Inn feeling elated. This restaurant in Endicott, NY, is undoubtedly a gem that I can't wait to revisit. 🥰
Now, where should I head next for my next adventure? Suggestions, anyone?

Read moreMy boyfriend and I drove an hour to the area for dinner, as there were a couple of restaurants we had heard of that we wanted to try. We didn't have reservations and the hostess at Oaks Inn was still able to seat us. I was very grateful as this was the place a friend had raved about the veal parmesan. The atomosphere is ok, as we both felt it was a little cramped. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca and it was amazing! the sauce was the best I've had. There was only one small piece of chicken on the oversized plate. As the waitress approached I simply asked if this was all the chicken there was supposed to be? I also did this in a quiet, disrcreet manor, as I do not like attention. She stepped back so she was almost a full table length away and in a loud voice exclaimed that it was a whole chicken breast! I was mortified. If I was in fact given the portion that they usually give out, I would have just taken that into consideration next time I was to choose a restaurant. Like I stated, it was delicious. I finished my chicken as my boyfriend continued with his meal. He enjoyed his, but said it wasn't worth the 1 hr drive it took us to get there. The waitress was extremely rude to us with her comment and in the interactions thereafter. I never would have even considered asking the question had I not truly thought that this was simply an oversight. I can't speak highly enough of the hostess as she seated us right away since we were there early in the evening. After we left, she even ran out to us to hand my boyfriend his to go box that he had forgotten and left on the table. His food was good, mine was amazing, the hostess went out of her way for us. Too bad the rude, inconsiderate, obnoxious waitress ruined the experience. She was also left her 20% tip in hopes that the hostess...
Read moreI was there this past Saturday sitting at the bar area for dinner.
I very intoxicated make sat next to me after I sat.
He was welcomed and set up immediately - a local drunk. He was greeted by a drunk couple. The woman took his chair and faced me the entire time - loudly talking to the 2 makes as they stood. Needless to say it was pretty much like having a loud speaker in my ear. After my meal arrived - a party to the left off in a booth apparently bought the drunks more drinks - how lucky for me. Now this amazing drunk woman that bycycles some 43 miles that day ( heard her whole story ) Then starts literally screaming over my dinner plate thanking the woman sitting down across the far corner. Again all this DIRECTLY over my dinner plate. If that wasn't enough the Veal France' was cooked in old rancid oil - tasted burnt on the outside and yep - the veal wasn't thoroughly cooked on the inside - nice and bloody.
The service was sweet and sincere.
I gagged on the raw food.
People --- it's not a bits club. It's not funny entertaining your drunk customers.
The food needs a long ways to go to catch up with emerging restaurants.
Your lucky people think it's so good - it's really in need of an overhaul and the boysclub girls club entitlement attitude for select customers isn't...
