I almost didn't want to write a review for this place because it is SO GOOD that I want it to remain a well-kept secret for myself and my wife. However, in the spirit of righteousness the proprietors of this establishment deserve all the success that is sure to find them, so I must share my praise. From the moment you approach the building you can tell they wanted to craft a certain experience. The facade is adorned with fountains and several large paintings. You walk down the side of the building under a canopy and go down the stairs almost as if entering an exclusive club. The walls are painted a royal green, the bar is beautifully crafted wood, and the tables are adorned with the appropriate white table cloths. From being greeted by the host until the time you make your exit you can expect to be treated with warmth and hospitality. Your meal starts with house made focaccia and a special cannellini dip. I find the dip delicious, my wife however does not eat beans - no worries as they're happy to provide you with butter upon request. The menu is a single page - I find this to be a plus, because each thing on it has clearly been hand crafted and perfected to it's pinnacle. For our most recent visit we sampled the seasonal flatbread, a caprese, and the stuffed dates - both combinations married sweet, salty, and savory flavors perfectly. The braised pork ragu was full of ample, well-seasoned pork in a deliciously creamy saucy. The filet mignon (a New Year's Eve special) may have been the best my wife or I have ever had. I can also attest to having had one of the best pork chops of my life on a previous visit. The prices and portions are very fair for the quality of experience - this is certainly not discount dining, but I've also paid more money for far less satisfaction at other establishments in my lifetime. I imagine as time goes on and their fanbase grows walk-ins will be near impossible - no worries as it's very easy to make a reservation on...
Read moreBased on positive "word of mouth" food reviews, we were excited to eat here. We made reservations a few days ahead but when we arrived we still had a 15 minute wait. Standing room only so we were directed to the bar. It's very attractive & cozy but was very crowded at this time. (7:30 pm) It was so loud with voices echoing that we couldn't hear each other without yelling. A small table for 2 was shifted into a 3 top for us. The most unfortunate part of our dining experience was they were out of our menu choices, specifically, Eggplant Parmesan. It's pricey when you consider a bowl of gemelli pasta with marinara sauce is $17. Side salad is an extra $5. A class of wine was $10. For dessert I ordered a cannoli & coffee which I waited over 15 minutes for & then did not come at the same time. (Menu & prices are on their website.) Our server was super nice but struggled a bit. A large party seemed to get all the attention, so much so, that our server had to reask what dessert I previously ordered 15 minutes before. It was almost comical. As the place was emptying out we actually heard faint background music. It's an old building that's nostalgic for the north side of Endicott. My husband's father from Sicily would bartend here for social events. A few hiccups will not keep us from going again at an earlier time & to try that Eggplant...
