We have been passing Karen’s Cafe for years and finally decided to stop in today. WOW!! This place is unique and delicious! We each ordered a breakfast burrito. My husbands had chorizo and a hash brown in it along w eggs and provolone. Mine had eggs, avocado , pepper jack and black beans and bacon . if you think you’ve had breakfast burritos in the past I guaranty you you’ve never had one like this. Each burrito was stuffed and then seemingly put on the grill to get a perfect crisp to it. I am a total breakfast person and this place is amazing! Oh, I can’t forget the chocolate chip banana bread… it was so amazing we bought another to take home w...
Read moreThe food is really good , everything is fresh & well seasoned & they're pretty crafty with making some fire food you normally only see on IG. I will say , the portions do not match what you'll see on IG with the giant portions of chicken cutlets etc. portions are good but for the price it's CRAZY expensive.
It's hard to justify stopping by to get a bacon egg & cheese on the way to work when it's $9. I noticed on the old menu it was $7. If you want ham egg & cheese with a hash brown it's $16.25.... for a BREAKFAST WRAP 🤯
You'll likely have your customers who don't mind dishing out an arm & a leg & return often. But most people can't justify spending almost twice the price as you can around the corner. Again food is great! Very creative & delicious but if I want to buy my family sandwiches from somewhere I can't justify the price. I can understand a menu where you cater to the extra nice fancy / expensive foods but to not have a section of reasonably priced options isn't good for business .
A word of advice if the pricing was reasonable for working class family's. I'd imagine you'd get a lot more foot traffic! But in this economy , who's spending $17 on a breakfast wrap?...
Read moreToday was the first time I've ever been to Karen's Cafe and I can say that my first impressions were top-notch! A cafe like this is exactly why I am glad I moved to New York! Firstly, I felt welcome and appreciated as a customer from the moment I walked in. The decor is adorable and fits the quaint NY cafe you expect in a small town! They have woodwork made by a family-friend which they sell there and don't make profit from (the money goes to the friend!). Now, how about the food? I've only been once so far but I got the Bacon, Double Egg, and Cheese on a roll for breakfast. I can confidently say, this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had for the price (which was just over $6)! Not to mention that the sandwich was made 100% fresh for me and took less than 5 minutes. Amazing service, amazing owners, just an overall amazing family business! I am so impressed and happy to have Karen's Cafe in Greenwood Lake and I will be visiting again soon (and again and...
