One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My group of 9 came in at 6pm; the restaurant was almost completely empty (2 or 3 people at the bar and 1 or 2 tables max) so we got seated right away. The server took our order fairly quickly, but from the time of us ordering to when our 3 appetizers came out, we waited almost an hour. The server was apologetic and explained that one of the cooks had gone home sick so there was only one person in the kitchen, which was entirely understandable, although still it seemed odd that it would take that long considering the restaurant was almost empty. The appetizers themselves were disappointing; the chicken was rubbery and the quesadillas were barely filled. Another hour went by before any of our entrees began to come out, which was incredibly frustrating. One person waited another 10 minutes after that before finally just cancelling his food. The entrees seemed to be better, but shortly after they came out my friend discovered a hair on his burger. Most all of us lost our appetites at that point, and the server agreed to take it off the check. We all agreed that we needed to alert the manager to these issues, and two of us went to the bar to speak with the person we presumed to be the manager. He was not, and he informed us that there was in fact no manager on duty that day and that the person effectively "in charge" that evening was our server. We decided to let the issue drop as it was now after 8, and all of us had an hour drive home. The server was not the issue, and our tip reflected as much, but the management in this place leaves A LOT to be desired. Our visit was a waste of $130 and we will...
Read moreMurphys has always been a reliable good place to eat and grab drinks, but recently, they updated their menu, and so far, everything I've tried has been really good to great!
The Italian Wedding Soup was really great, and mozzarella sticks were light and crispy. I tried 3 kinds of tacos (steak, beef, pulled pork)- all very good, even held up for take out/eating at home. Personal pizza thin crust, always very good. Appetizer sampler was a great way to try a few things at once!
I'm both happy and upset that they have several new desserts, too! I wish they had a sampler for that (!) Better for me, they don't! I got the peanut butter chocolate torte(?) And it was light enough to finish! Uh oh!!! Hahaha!
The servers I had were very friendly and accommodating. They feel 'happy to be there', which, as a former hospitality professional, I appreciate seeing, and as a Medium, I appreciate feeling! They make you comfortable and offer great suggestions. (And they didn't know I'm a Google Local Guide either!) The owner is always friendly and hands-on as well too.
I am very glad for their beautiful renovations and extension, to be able to sit outside in nice weather, easy parking, and fair prices. This restaurant/bar is definitely an asset to our community. And with the new menu, I'll definitely be going more and bringing more friends!
Peace, abundance, and continued success for...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I visited for the weekend along with my service animal. On our first day, we stopped by Murphy’s and enjoyed a lovely lunch on the patio. Our server, Christine B, was exceptionally kind and welcoming — her service truly stood out.
We were so impressed that we decided to return the following day for drinks. Unfortunately, this experience was markedly different. We were approached by a staff member (name unknown; he had curly hair and a tattoo on his forearm) who informed us that dogs were not permitted on the patio. When we explained that we had been there the previous day and that my dog is a service animal, he responded dismissively and asked, “Oh yeah? Serving who?” — a comment that was both inappropriate and unprofessional.
Thankfully, Christine intervened and addressed the situation immediately. Had she not stepped in, we would have left and taken our business elsewhere. It’s important to note that questioning someone about the purpose of their service animal is not only invasive but also highly disrespectful. We hope this feedback encourages better awareness and training for staff...
