Girl with tattoos is THE reason why I will not be going back and will not recommend this place. I believe she is the daughter of the owners. She took my order and kept cutting me off when inquiring on the food menu which they keep at the register. You don't get a chance to know what food items they offer until you get to the register where they hold the food menú. She treated me as if I was ignorant, and her facial expressions the entire time were showing how impatient she is. She expects you to know the menu like the back of your hand and wants you to order in 2 seconds as soon as you get the the register. If you get her to take you order, expect to be rushed, cut off when talking and you will be spoken to as if you are ignorant. And unfortunately, this is not the first time she is like this. This was my second time being there and her attitude remains the same. The first time I thought she might be having a bad day but sadly this is who she is. NEEEEVER going back to spend my money at a place where I am disrespected. To the girl with tattoos, If you don't enjoy your work, please do not work here. No way to treat the hand that feeds you. Next time I am looking for breakfast on the island, I will pleasantly skip this place. No one needs an unpleasant interaction like this when they are trying to enjoy...
Read moreNEVER GO HERE. Especially after the unapologetic response from the owner I would definitely say to stay away.
The "vintage leather" was actually just old vinyl. Second, there was a huge changing pad under them. Believe me, no nastiness touched anything. Where do you suggest that should happen? Your employee was telling at us that we needed to leave because you were closing?
Not even to mention, you said nothing about the rushed unfriendliness with the half dozen people still in the store.
Very disappointed. We stopped in at noon on a Sunday because everything said they were open till 1:00. We walked in wanting some coffee after the ferry ride and needing to also change our infant. The bathroom was booked a few people out so we went over to a dark unused part of the store. While finishing up, a young employee came over and in a very rude voice told us that "they were closing and we should not be over there". Then she exclaimed that we should NEVER change an infant there. Also, while the store was full of customers, the same employee was rushing around, locking the door and shutting lights off. Blegh.
The whole experience was embarrassing and made us never want to go there and to recommend no one else go...
Read moreA stay on Washington Island isn’t complete without a visit to the Red Cup. You walk in to see the most thoughtfully curated wares and sundries for sale. Plus some groovy merch. You instantly smell the fresh brewed coffee and fried eggs and you know you’ve found the perfect breakfast spot. Anything and everything on their menu is worth getting but I truly love the bacon and brie and if you’re there on the weekend get the burrito! If you have a sweet tooth any one of their baked goods would satisfy your cravings. I can’t forget the coffee! I’m a classic cup of joe kind of gal and theirs really is killer coffee. It’s strong, bold and absolutely delicious!! Last but most assuredly not least are the staff, the staff are good people. They are efficient, fast and courteous and they’re really great at what they do. The entire vibe/feel of the place is set by the tone of the owners and staff and they make you feel right at home in the coolest way. So if you find yourself up on the island do yourself a big favor and make a stop at the Red Cup. Sit, stay and enjoy it a while, it always goes...
