In response to the tough profesional business owner.
First of all if I was tough hunter as you say I am I would get up and…….out of you when you insulted us.
Second you didn’t have a 20% sign for gratuity. If it’s a policy then you should add it automatically on the bill.
Third to show how good of business owner you are should learn how you calculate tips. When you calculate the tip you calculate pre tax not after tax . The total was $144 plus taxes, now do the math.
Fourth , I didn’t know they make expensive plastic and paper ware .
Fifth as a good business owner you saying you are, you should also know that’s hard to cut that chicken ( because it wasn’t fall of the bone) with plastic utensils and probably you will have to pick up the bbq meat with your hands to eat it . Perhaps you should have more napkins on the table and maybe a glass of water like all the restaurants do.
I am a business owner myself and I know how hard it’s to get customers to come into your store to shop and keep them coming. And even if I am not happy with a customer I will not start yelling at them in font of other people. You started talking loud so other customer hear you and make sure they tip good your employees because you don’t pay them.
And I also have employees and we do deliveries and if customer doesn’t tip I don’t call them back and tell them to make sure you tip next time. My employees are happy because I PAY THEM GOOD. Take my advice and PAY them too.
As a civilized person I will not go to your level and go there . This is why they have all these wonderful review platforms so people can write about it tough guy. What you will do if I go there, beat me up because I gave you 1 star review? You deserve 2 stars for your average food and 0 stars for your behavior. ————————————————————————
We have been going to this place since they opened. We go 5-6 times a year to eat there and take food to go. One Saturday night (11/18/23) 6 of us went there to eat. We ordered and hey brought the food at the table, the girl came again to ask if we needed anything else. After we finish we went to pay at the counter. We told the girl to add $20 on the total amount which was around $143 before taxes . We paid and sat down and continued talking . The owner comes over and with a loud voice started to ask us how was everything from the food to the service and then how was so hard to find people to work there and that the tip it was not enough. We explained him that we told the girl to add $20 on the bill. If you want NYC tips you shouldn’t serve the food on paper plates with plastic utensils with one tiny napkin and not even a glass of water.
By the way on previous visits we ordered food at the counter tip the girl before the food came and even threw the paper plates after we finished. On the way out we purchased to go food and we tip the girl again.
If according to you we didn’t tip enough you can tell us more privately and not trying to be loud so the other tables hear you. You can’t find anyone to work for you because you don’t pay them . You expect your customers to pay for your employees. At the end we gave the...
Read moreEdit responding to owner: I’m surprised by your response. As a customer, I shared honest feedback about my experience, which is something most restaurants would use constructively. Instead, you’ve chosen to insult me.
Salt and pepper shakers are a standard addition to tables, but they aren’t meant to be a substitute for seasoning during the cooking process. Properly seasoning food is a fundamental part of creating flavorful dishes. It’s not just my opinion—it’s the expectation when dining at a BBQ restaurant, especially at this price point.
Rather than addressing my feedback about the lack of flavor, the quality of the sides, or the overall value, you resorted to insults and dismissed my concerns. That kind of attitude reflects poorly on your establishment and makes it clear you don’t value customer opinions.
It’s disappointing to see that this type of response isn’t unique to my review. Looking through others, it’s clear that criticism—no matter how valid—is met with hostility instead of constructive dialogue. This pattern reflects poorly on the business and raises concerns about how much value is placed on customer feedback.
I stand by my review, and I hope future customers see these responses for what they are before deciding where to dine.
Original review: I never imagined food—especially American BBQ—could be so utterly flavorless.
While the service was fine, the food was a major letdown. At the very least, please salt the food! The brisket, pulled pork, and chicken were all inexplicably bland, as if the lack of flavor was intentional. I had to personally salt my $25 BBQ combo to make it even remotely palatable.
The sides didn't fare any better. The mac and cheese was flavorless, with mushy, overcooked pasta that looked like leftovers from weeks ago. My truffle Parmesan fries were disappointing too—clearly generic frozen fries drenched in truffle oil and topped with store-brand Parmesan, again with no salt or other seasoning in sight. My wife’s spinach side dish was essentially just greasy mush with a hint of spinach.
The cornbread was passable, though it seemed like boxed mix.
On the bright side, the waitress was pleasant and professional, and the restaurant is dog-friendly—they even offered my dog water and a pork shoulder bone, which was appreciated.
However, the price made the experience even worse. Two beers and two combos came to $77, which feels wildly overpriced for food this lackluster.
I picked this place based on the reviews for a nice meal after a hike with my wife on her birthday but now I'm left wondering many things; What did those people eat that they left 4 or 5 stars? Did I catch this place on a bad day? Are these good reviews fake?
I honestly don't know what to think of this anomaly.
If nothing else, please...
Read moreStopped here on our way home last weekend, not many places to eat and figured how could you go wrong with bbq?? Well let me tell you how.. I ordered the pulled pork and brisket combo with Mac and cheese and cornbread. Sounds delicious right?? My girlfriend ordered the same but instead of cornbread she ordered French fries. The total came to just under $40 with two drinks. We waited while others ordered, got their food and left. And we kept waiting. At least 15 minutes went by and then finally my name was called. We sat down and opened the food expecting some really good food. Neither of us could tell the difference between the “pulled pork” or the “brisket”. Both looked and tasted the same. Could’ve all been the same for all we know. The meat was cold, tasteless and soaked with grease. The Mac and cheese was also soaked with grease and not fresh. I could tell it’s been reheated at least once although that wasn’t very warm... The cornbread was soggy, very small portion. We asked for a refund after trying the food and really attempting to like it. The owner came outside and looked at the food and said yes give hem their money back. He then proceeded to tell us that everyone has their own taste which I agree with 100% and said we were the first people in 2 1/2 years to asked for a refund. I find that hard to believe. For $40 the food should at the minimum be hot.. I began to tell him why we weren’t happy and he didn’t want to hear it. Just talked louder as if he was trying to be intimidating.. I just chuckled at him and left. I won’t recommend this place to anyone. The only reason I gave it two stars was because the ice tea (canned) was very refreshing.
Response to owner: If the meat was decent at all we wouldn’t have had to “smother it with bbq sauce” which still didn’t help the nastiness of the food. I’ve read your reviews, nobody is impressed with your small portions Dennis. Nobody. The only people that like tasteless food is the older crowd which I saw plenty of while there. And yes you did refund our money, doesn’t make the experience any better at all. You stood over us and tried to intimidate us. That isn’t professional at all. I’m glad the people in your tiny town think you have good food because if it wasn’t for their delusional thinking you’d be out of business for sure. So have a nice day and keep thinking your food is awesome because we know otherwise and will never return. Thanks for the canned ice tea. THAT was...
