Nice looking, family-owned bakery. But upon arriving, didn't feel welcomed. Took a few minutes for the worker behind cash to finally acknowledged us and ask what she could help us with. Informed her that we had an appointment with Dave for a Wedding Cake Inquiry. He was very confident, very re-assuring, and we left feeling good about their services. He gave good advice to ensure all vendors are on the same page about 2-weeks prior to the wedding date. However, 3-days prior to the date, he called my fiance (at the time) about the flower arrangement for the cake. At the inquiry, we informed him who our florist was, but he never made it clear to us that we were the ones to inform the florist what was needed for the cake. We were under the impression that after telling him who she was, him complimenting her work, and him being the vastly experienced professional in this business of weddings, that he'd make the arrangements for the flowers needed. Instead, he called my fiance and informed her that the flowers were not ordered for the cake, and that she needed to call the florist immediately to-work-something-out. For someone who boasts about being so experienced, he was not sensitive to the pressure a bride could be under, as his condescending tone made her feel overwhelmed and irresponsible leading her to shed tears while at work and have a mini-breakdown. Ordered a birthday cake in person and in advance with the expected decorations. Get multiple calls back on the designing then told 2 days before pick up that a deposit was never giving to make the cake so they canāt move forward with the order. The person that took the initial order was āstill in trainingā explained by the final phone call and was suppose to take a deposit upon the order taking. We were willing to give it over the phone but was told itās too late. Being it was now two days before pick up, there was not enough time to make the cake. Instead of any apology, their solution was to take a stock cake from the cooler (basic and nothing close to what was ordered) and add some decorations! Wow. Great solution. The person on the phone had no empathy, avoided taking full responsibility to make it really right and fell back on the person that took the order was well āstill in trainingā. Lucky for us the last minute we were able to get a cake made from another bakery who was willing to accommodate and eager to earn the business. In this day and age loyalty is invaluable and difficult to replace. Moving forward we will avoid using Muscoreils. I placed a 100 dollar deposit for my wedding cake but then had little to no communication. We are a military family and were planning from Texas so communication was key. I emailed and called several times ( now we are a month out and still no one has reached out to finalize). I was told that Phil would call me back and he never did.
Finally, i decided to use my deposit just for some treats for the rehearsal dinner, placed the order and paid for the amount it was over. NOW PHIL calls!
Phil tells me that itās under new ownership and if i didnāt order a wedding cake, then the deposit is technically not valid. That i could order my desserts but he would meet me in the middle and give me 40 dollars off my order, but Iād still need to pay for the whole order !
This is because the old owner got that money and if i ordered a cake well he could make more money. With my current order he would loose money. Like thatās not my problem. Then he goes on to explain to me the deposit was non refundable. But thatās not what my contract sys. Then he starts to yell at me.
Can i add a PS that when i did fly in from Texas for a cake tasting ( and other errands ) they were very inflexible and we were only able to manage having them put the cake in a box for us to taste. Just overall a...
