6/27/24 @ 11am, came here after a procedure at Wynn Hospital
Be warned if you pay with cash, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GIVE CASH TO THE WAITRESS! PAY AT CHECKOUT COUNTER ONLY... **
3 PEOPLE TOTAL, 2 OF US WENT FOR BREAKFAST & 1 FOR LUNCH. MY GIAMBOTTA WAS TASTELESS, ONLY A FEW STRANDS OF GREENS, I REQUESTED EITHER REFUND OR A DIFFERENT DISH AS I TOOK BASICALLY 2 BITES & COULDNT STAND IT. SOMEONE CAME & TOOK PLATE & ADVISED THEY WOULD BRING TO A manager. Came back in passing & advised making a fresh one ( which I didn't want as 1st one was so bad) no one came back so I could advise I would prefer a different breakfast item or even a lunch instead... our waitress acted like she'd rather be any place but there, did not know what went into the giambotta. Never came back to check if food was ok. She brought check, it came to $62. If paid in cash, I handed her $73, which she counted out as she was walking away. ( note she never stopped, or immediately came back to advise of any issues!!!)
we left diner approximately 5 minutes after bill was paid & as we were getting into our car ( which takes time as im iwheelchair) the waitress & manager came up to us, the waitress was mumbling & stumbling over her words!! Finally got to asking were the rest of the money was for the meals!!!!! Are you kidding me, this waitress was paid in full, had plenty of time to come back to our table if there was an issue. ( which she didn't do & again i watched her count our money as she left our table)...... my family members saw me lay out $60 in $20 bills, $5 & $8 in $1.00 bills for a total of $73.00
NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THIS WAITRESS POCKETED OUR CASH & LEFT ONLY THE $1 BILLS REMAINING. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON HER. SHE KNOWS THIS BILL WAS FULLY PAID!! WHICH WAS WHY SHE WAS FUMBLING FOR WORDS IN FRONT OF FEMALE MANAGER?
MY SISTER IN LAW WAS ASKED TO RETURN INSIDE & THEN MADE TO PAY AGAIN FOR THIS FOOD!! Ridiculous & unacceptable.
I for one will never go back to this BOULEVARD DINER for obvious reasons.
AGAIN, DO NOT PAY CASH TO WAITRESS, GO DIRECTLY TO CHECK OUT COUNTER ONLY & I WOULD RECOMMEND ASKING FOR A MANAGER TO BE PRESENT BEFORE PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER!
This won't be last time this waitress does this. I suggest recording on phone all money counted out & handed to her or anyone.
I will say the coffee & baked goods were delicious, I got 2 lobster claws filled with cream & they were perfect, fresh...
Read moreRight from the moment we arrived, we were happy to find a spacious parking lot with plenty of parking spots available. The restaurant itself was spotless, creating a pleasant and inviting environment. There are plenty of tables. It can get busy, but still plentiful of seatings.
I stopped by recently for breakfast on a weekday. I ordered a "boulevard breakfast" special. It included two eggs cooked just the way we wanted, along with a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, home fries, toast, coffee, and juice. I went for scrambled eggs, and they were cooked to perfection. Home fries are cooked on the grill, but you can ask for deep fried home fries which would be extra charge. I had mine deep fried, and it lacked seasoning, but it was good. The portion size of my breakfast was small. I’ve had decent portion elsewhere.
I've also had the pleasure of trying their lunch menu, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. One standout item that I highly recommend is their breaded buffalo chicken sandwich.
Don't miss their delicious lobster tails with vanilla filling from the bakery display—they are heavenly! Be sure to check out their bakery items before you walk out the door.
I recommend this restaurant for...

There are too few diners left to choose from (in the Greater Utica area, at least). One of the few that remains is a Whitesboro staple.
I have fond memories of this place, so that’ll undoubtedly temper this review.
Visited yesterday (2/10/25). Party of two. Hostess was pleasant and sat us immediately. The property and its atmosphere has changed very much AND very little over the years. It’s quite large, but the seating feels slightly cramped.
The food: the missus ordered the sausage and gravy over biscuits. I ordered two eggs, sausage, home fries, and rye toast. The service was great- we waited no more than 5 mins from time of order to food delivery. The meals, however, left a lot to be desired. The sausage and gravy was bland. The biscuits weren’t quite burnt, but very close. Four biscuits- very little sausage gravy. Quite dry. The other meal was terribly mundane. Poorly seasoned scrambled eggs, dry and uninteresting home fries. Awful coffee.
Price: steep. $40 for two small, poorly prepared breakfast entrees.
Takeaway: this place seems to be universally adored. We have no idea why. Sentimentality, surely. Throughly undeserving of its...
