The ice cream is very good, while the prices are pretty much like all the other ice cream stands these days (and everything else in the world) - too high and a total rip off. Then again, this is America where the credo is "In gouging we trust." Oh yeah, the parking lot is too small, also. And that's the good news! What is really irritating about this place is that besides the three picnic tables under the tent/canopy, there is no place to sit. Nothing! The tent could easily accommodate 3 more tables, so most of the space under there is a waste while the customers are forced to stand around in the sun while their ice cream melts all over them. Behind the tent, there is a large expanse of grass and zero shade where another canopy/picnic tables or something resembling chairs could be added, but this place evidently doesn't care about customer comfort in the least. If you don't mind bringing your own chairs, some sunscreen and are ok with the fact that you might not find a parking place, then this is about as good a place as any other to exhaust your legs and pay too much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped in after going to the races, based on the reviews, it being local, and the āabout usā backstory. We really wanted to like it but were so, so disappointed. The Cheat Day ice cream was supposed to be vanilla and chock full of m&ms, cookie dough, etc. But really, it should have just been called Cheated. It literally was vanilla with just a few chocolate chips in it. And the vanilla base was nothing special. The Choc-O-Lot was also full of empty promises and barely any mix insā¦literally 1 piece of brownie chunk and a small scrap of chocolate cake. The chocolate base was not that chocolately, either. Additionally, the chocolate Oreo peanut butter had the same average tasting chocolate base but no distinctive peanut butter taste, and no Oreos!!! None of these flavors lived up to their name. Quite honestly, I couldāve gotten much better flavor and quality at the Stewart Shop. Sidebar about the kids working the counter there. They were very polite and got the order right and we were more than happy...
Read moreThursday May 4th, 8:35pm. Me and my girlfriend arrive to your establishment to find it mostly dark with workers playing on their phones inside. We politely asked through the closed glass if we could simply get some ice cream. The seemingly annoyed clerk (young girl with curly hair) dismisses us and proceeds to act as if she still has to close out the register which is clearly already done. The blonde haired boy working the back had disappeared after seeming desperately preoccupied with his phone. I've loved dairy haüs but tonight I was gravely disappointed when 25 minutes early I was denied my favorite after work treat, especially after telling my girlfriend how delicious it is. Unfortunately you've lost a devoted customer and will now be going to alternative shops to fulfill my demand. I'm sorry your workers had better plans on a Thursday night than to do their jobs. I hope you find better employment through the rest...
