Very displeased with my experience here, their St.Patricks Day special, which was recommended by a friend of the owners. From the service to the meal to the atmosphere, I have nothing good to talk about here. Very disappointing!! We ordered 2 dinners without knowing the price against my better judgment. That said, when I paid $23 for corned beef and cabbage and $16 for a corned beef sandwich, I definitely expected a good portion amount and quality food. I had a 4:30 pick-up time. Got there at 4:25, paid the ridiculous price for the underwhelming meals, and waited for my meals. In the meantime, several other customers entered and got their orders of anywhere from 1 to 6 meals, all people apparently known by the servers, were all served their orders first even though I have know been standing there for 20 minutes! I finally get our meals and leave, beyond frustrated. I get home and open the containers to find 1 cut potato 3 chunks of carrot and a small pile of pieces of maimed cabbage and 2 thin sliced corned beef and a ripped up piece of soda bread. My husband's sandwich was thrown in there on top of pickles and potato salad, so needless to say, his bottom bread was wet to the point it was unedible! I will not be returning here for ANY meal, and I will definitely be telling everyone that will listen to NOT go there to be mistreated and overcharged for their less than meager food, unsatisfactory service and terrible prices for that meager food! Wish I took photos words don't do this...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Triangle Diner is a shiny gem of an eatery. It incorporates everything I love about diners. The decor, a sweet staff who knew many of the guests by name, the hustle and bustle of a quick turnover of smiling guests, the comforting smells which make it feel like 'home'.
Where they truly shine is the food. Inventive plates that are well executed and affordable. I ordered smoked Salmon with capers, asparagus, hollandaise, poached eggs and homefries. The meal also came with a perfectly grilled blueberry muffin (done in true diner fashion on the flat top with just the right amount of butter). The meal was absolutely incredible. The flavors complimented one another as well as the textures and the portion was perfect. It was hard to pick between all of the delectable delights on their menu. The choices were so tempting that my dining buddy ordered two meals (loaded hash brown skillet and country style eggs Benedict...which they raved about).
I wish I lived closer to this wonderful, friendly and very efficiently run establishment. I'd eat there multiple times a week. It was very clean and inviting. There were outdoor seating options and our wait was less than the originally estimated wait time. All staff wore masks and throughly sanitized tables and seats between guests.
Highly recommend! The Triangle Diner was...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Triangle Diner is a classic American diner that has been a staple in Saratoga for years. The atmosphere is comfortable and nostalgic, with the quintessential diner decor and friendly waitstaff. However, the food quality and consistency leaves something to be desired.
On my most recent visit, I ordered the breakfast special - two eggs, home fries, and toast. The eggs were cooked properly, but the home fries were quite greasy and oversalted. The toast was serviceable, but nothing to write home about. My dining companion ordered a club sandwich, which was a bit haphazardly assembled and the bread was a bit stale.
The prices are fairly standard for a diner, but I felt I didn't quite get the value I expected for what I ordered. The service was attentive, but the food preparation and presentation could use some improvement.
Overall, the Triangle Diner provides a classic diner experience, but the quality of the food is a bit inconsistent. It's a decent option if you're in the area and craving some standard diner fare, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. With so many great dining options in Saratoga, the Triangle Diner falls a bit short...
