We came to this restaurant because my family used to come here under the old owners. Sandy the current manager is not child friendly and he made it very known by telling us he couldnāt seat us because he had a large party sitting already in another wise empty restaurant( they were paying their bill and about to leave) he offered to seat our party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) at the bar area which we were ok with. Menu was very limited and most kid friendly food items were āunavailable ā . Sandy was not pleasant at any point . My father in law who tried to make small talk with Sandy was met with rude responses. When we asked for ketchup he seemed to be annoyed and asked what else we need (in an unpleasant tone)As we started our meals a party of 6 women came in and Sandy sat them in the tables that we previously were told we couldnāt sit in. Throughout our time there Sandy took utensils and crayons from my son , ones he provided because they seem to annoy him. My kids are well behaved and are used to going out so they know how to act. I did not appreciate the pulling of utensils and crayons out of my sons hands three times. This place left a nasty taste with me and my family. We will not be coming back to a restaurant that clearly is not kid friendly and not meant to welcome families. The owners should look to see how their manager runs the place . The young girl zeida ( Iām sure I misspelled her name) is very sweet and welcoming the whole time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bit into my hash brown and to my painful surprise, found that I chomped on a large, heavy, METAL ball. It was quite scary. We called over a server and she was apologetic and assured she'd take care of my meal. I understand accidents happen, but I have no idea how this object could have gotten into my food and the way we were handled after the fact was wildly disappointing. After waiting 30 minutes for our check, they forgot to comp. the meal and then when we brought it to their attention and asked for a new check, they forgot about us AGAIN and all they removed was my $8.00 egg sandwich.. In a scenario like this I would expect A LOT more, especially if you're charging NYC prices.
This was our 3rd visit and I can confidently say that yes, the place is cute and the food is tasty, but thats about all this place has going for it. The service is awful (staff is sweet) but slow & all over the place and the food is overpriced.
If your'e in a rush or just don't feel like sitting in the same place for well over an hour, steer clear. If you do find yourself at Day June, bring your patience, chew slowly, and maybe comb through your food first for any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCute little nook and our server was so sweet and friendly. I got the regular pancakes which tasted good, and my husband got the Country Girl (fried chicken on a biscuit with sausage gravy). It had great flavor but was very dry, so he requested additional gravy. A few minutes later we heard the cook shout to the server āif he wants extra sauce, he has to pay for it!ā And then the cook continued to berate the server about staff issues like servers not talking to each other and āthatās why we are in the situation weāre in.ā It kept going and we felt very uncomfortable. For her part, when the server came back over to us (in this very small restaurant where everyone can hear everything), she was still just as sweet. Not sure if we were charged for the additional gravy; the check wasnāt itemized. Would have been a much better experience without the airing of...
