Some of the best food I've ever had, great service from friendly staff, and a warming atmosphere to top it off.
From the first appetizer, we instantly knew we made the right call coming here. Every dish that came out proceeded to top the one before it, eventually culminating with two of the daily specials that were great twists on more common dishes. Every dish was prepared to perfection, every ingredient tasted fresh, and the combination of ingredients on each plate greatly complimented each other. This is NOT your typical "Italian" restaurant where half of the dishes taste like tomato sauce, or everything is topped with cheese to mask the bland flavor of the meals.
The staff here were incredibly nice, especially the manager. Everyone here was welcoming, made good conversation, and was attentive to customers. The restaurant itself was clean and simple, while still having scatterings of decor that give it character and personalization, like the dozens of miniature "Christmas Village" buildings tucked above the bar that find themselves at home any time of the year.
An easy 5/5, and if I could rate it any higher, I would. Highly recommend, I don't think anyone could be disappointed here. We're only in town for a couple of days, so normally we try not to repeat restaurants, but this place is going to be hard to avoid over these...
Read moreIn short, 14 of us celebrated my dad’s 80th birthday with dinner at Vesuvio’s. Great choice! Excellent food at reasonable prices & experienced (well-trained), attentive & friendly service!
Details: I contacted Vesuvio’s via email to see if they could accommodate a party of 14. They responded within a few hours and we set up a phone call to discuss details.
Since we wld be a big party. I offered to choose a few items to help the kitchen & waitstaff but was assured that this would not be necessary. We could order from the main menu. We could bring in our own cake or they could provide one.
I emailed a week ahead of our reservation to confirm our headcount and our decision that they should provide a cake and felt confident that all would be in order.
We were seated at a nice large table (not crowded). The head waitress introduced herself (Donna) and the other waitstaff, let us settle, took drink orders, did not rush us, explained the specials, answered questions and took our orders. When the time came they took coffee orders and delivered it with a delicious strawberry shortcake “Happy 80th Birthday!” and joined us in singing.
We had a great time! Donna and her staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was excellent!
We will recommend Vesuvio’s and...
Read moreA wonderful Sicilian/Italian dinner experience! We visited while skiing at Windham, and I'm not sure if it was the ski induced hunger, or the great food, most likely combination of both. But we all found the meals exemplary.
The wait staff were on point, and the chef did not mind customizing a couple items from our orders to our particular taste. Everything we ordered, whether modified to our taste or original per the menu, came out perfect. The bar was not shy when it came to pouring a stiff vodka martini.
I don't really look at prices while ordering, and I expected a bill of around $250 (including a few drinks) for our party of 3 (including a child) + an extra entré because we wanted it for the table. When the tab arrived at only $165, my honest nature required that I double-check to make sure they didn't forget anything.
The next time we come to Windham, we plan to eat every possible meal here.
If I had to criticize, it would not be about the bar, food, or the staff. The only thing I would ask for is some WiFi for the patrons because there is no cell reception. It's 2018, which means it's well past time to add a guest wifi network and/or a...
