Miraggio Mediterranean Cuisine — Restaurant in Town of Yorktown

A nice family style Italian restaurant! The dining area is very large, and almost every table was full at 7pm on a Saturday. Service was a little slow because it was so busy, but the food was excellent. Entrees are served family style, so our waiter recommended appetizers, two pastas, and two meats to feed 8 people. Our appetizers came pretty quickly after ordering and we enjoyed the mozzarella and tomato, fried calamari, and the miraggio salad. For our main course we tried the casalinga eggplant pizza, gnocchi alla sorrentina, penne alla vodka, chicken Milanese, and shrimp scampi. The penne alla vodka was incredible, and everyone in our group really enjoyed the chicken Milanese, shrimp scampi, and the pizza. The gnocchi was the only dish that none of us really enjoyed- it tasted great but it was cooked much softer than we like and almost felt like mashed potatoes. It took about 45 minutes from ordering to our food being delivered, but the waiter gave us a heads up that the kitchen was backed up and it didn’t seem like too long for how busy they were. Our desserts were generally good, people really enjoyed the gelato but the tiramisu was a little dry. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner, had a great time, and didn’t mind the wait. We know they’re new, so hopefully they’ll be able to work out...

So this restaurant will not last long..Service is terrible..Went for Mother’s Day the waiter didn’t even acknowledge the other side of our table.. we had about 12 people.. if you wanted drinks you had to get up and go to the bar yourself otherwise you would die of thirst.. when he took the food order he took 4 people orders and then just left my daughter in law had to find him and tell him to come back and take the rest of orders. When the food came out is was 1 serving at a time and forgot someone after 30 minutes the owner comes to table and says oh yea it’s family style.. bullshit all the other dishes wasn’t ? Now the filet minion dish came out the steak was already cut in cubes ? Wtf is that? Ask for water Wait maybe you will get it . The waiter was struggling to even understand how a restaurant works… wasn’t even offered dessert .. great restaurant. Oh did I forget to say they forgot someone’s food? Even after he placed the order earlier they claim he was in the Mens room.. bullcrap he ordered the same as his fiancé shrimp fra diablo It never came out.. overall the worst service ever and the owner is just blind to what’s going in.. feel sorry for him he’s an older gentleman and shouldn’t be in...

We were long term frequent patrons years ago and are happy Miraggio is back.

Recently, We have eaten there several times and each time we are more than satisfied with quality and quantity of our meals. The staff is attentive and accommodating. I’m a vegetarian and they have been able to modify ingredients with no sacrifice to the delicious taste of the entree.

IMO, The ONLY area that could use improvement is the deserts. We have tried a few things and each one was disappointing. Hope this changes -
