This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I am very decisive when ordering from places that I have never ate at before. I was very hungry but I wanted something light and that would potentially fill me up at the same time. I Thoroughly looked through the menu and decided on an "Islander" sandwich. I had the sandwich made somewhat modified, with sour dough bread, cranberry mayonnaise, and without spinach. When arriving at the restaurant you would, (if driving by) the name of the restaurant, think it was a candy shop. NO! It's way better than a candy shop! They have outdoor seating. Inside is very quaint, with a unique, updated and contemporary stylish look. (VERY CLEAN ) The owner, Renee (Apologies if spelt wrong) was extremely friendly, informative, and cheerful. I had explained it was my first time here, and she was happy to give me a menu and also give me a run down of what is served and hours of operation. So now let's get to the yummy part. (The sandwich) The sandwich has chicken, pineapples, jalapeños, and provolone cheese and spinach, ( I did not get it with spinach) Let me also say, Pineapples really do belong on this sandwich! When I got home I opened the box and I was shocked by how good it smelt and the way the sandwich looked. I literally could not wait to take a bite (hence my picture with the bite already taken out of it) The sweetness of the pineapples, tender chicken, the slight kick from the jalapeños, provolone cheese and the modified cranberry mayonnaise that I had asked for, made this the BEST home made sandwich I have ever had. It just was so good. It also came with home made potato chips that were super fresh, thin crunchy and crispy, that I was unexpected to see in the box. Best homemade potato chips I've ever tasted as well. To get and come to the conclusion, I'm extremely happy that I chose to try this local honey hole restaurant. I will surely be returning for more "Islanders" and trying other items...
Read moreRenee of Sweet & Salty catered our Celebration of Life for my mum, JoAnne Barrett Blood (a longtime local teacher), at the St. John's Hall in Townsend for about 60ish people. The food was perfect, on point, delicious, well served - a selection of creative sandwiches, including vegetarian options, on delicious bread (Renee roasts her own meats). Plus the classic finger rolls that everyone expects, 3 fabulous salads and some amazing desserts - some regular, some gluten free. She truly went above and beyond to deliver a gluten free grain bowl for my daughter. Set up, clean up and serving was all impeccable and seamless. She provided all the paper goods and a young helper to clear and serve. If you can get Renee for your event, I highly recommend her service and food. She is very easy to work with. I can't believe I didn't take any photos...
Read moreRun, don’t walk to this amazing cafe! While in the area, my daughter and I checked the reviews on this restaurant and the positive reviews were through the roof! We decided to give it a try, and let me tell you that was a very good decision. After browsing the menu with lots of options, especially gluten free options, we decided on two gluten free sandwiches that were available in many different unique combinations (other non-gluten free options available too). Just looking at these fluffy sandwiches made our mouths water, and they tasted just as delicious! The owner/chef was exceptionally kind and welcoming, and prepared our food very carefully. I would definitely recommend this cute local cafe, you won’t regret it! (Plenty of parking in the back and outdoor...
