The quality of food is good and has consistently been that way. I've eaten here or ordered food about a dozen times in the last year. Originally I had rated this a 5 star restaurant, but am changing my review for the following reason.
I give it two stars because the customer service has been getting worse and worse. Every time we have ordered online these past few months the order is never ready when we go to pick it up. They quote 20 mins and it's been up to an hour, 40 minutes of that with me sitting at the bar waiting.
This past time, having arrived at the 20 min mark, I was greeted and told the food was nearly ready. 12 mins in I inquired and was told another 20-25 minutes. I expressed my annoyance with the incorrect time estimates for pickup and instead of being given a discount or even an apology, I was fed the excuse that they can't estimate how long it takes to make the food.
When we finally did get our food, 50 mins after placing the order. It was cold. As if it had been sitting in the back ready the entire time.
It's sucks this is one of the best places for Indian around. It's too bad they can't manage their time a bit better, as it would significantly improve repeat business. Issues like this one really turn people off from becoming a repeat customer ... regardless of food quality. If you are then manager and reading this, you desperately need to work...
Read moreSansar ArmPit Cuisine... I love the aromatic, flavorful Indian cuisine. Recently I found myself with a particular craving for some butter chicken. My first choice, Dhaba, but they are closed on Tuesday, which led me to try out Sansar.
Upon entering Sansar, I was met with a look and thorough once-over, was followed with a whispered exchange with the staff and a glance from a customer at the bar, I couldnât shake off a sense of unease. Was I walking into a private club or was there a rose bush hanging out of my pants...I dont know, but well I sat down and shook off the initial awkwardness, what truly marred the dining experience was witnessing the same man who had sized me up earlier casually scratched his armpit and, without any hesitation, proceeded to handle the plastic to-go bowls and go help another customer.
A blatant disregard for hygiene is not something I take lightly, especially when it involves food so I called out
CHECK PLEASE!!! In summary, while Sansar might tick some boxes for the average diner, my experience was overshadowed by both the curious initial reception and the unsettling display of gross hygiene. Play it safe and pass, I won't be recommending or revisiting. For those considering Sansar, if it's hygiene and hospitality you're after, there might be other venues better suited to meet those...
Read moreUpdate: I found the quality of the food and the ambiance very good today. There was a paneer dish on the lunch buffet as well as several other vegetarian options. The ambiance was very nice overall, although it was a bit crowded (which is a sign of popularity), but a downside to the crowdedness was that the restaurant ran low on rice at one point (unfortunately when I was at the buffet). But the food all tasted very good.
Earlier review: The food itself was pretty good, but I would have liked more vegetarian entrees, especially entrees with paneer. My main complaints are that when I was at the lunch buffet the entire time of my meal the television was blaring a Hindu? Punjabi? religious Iman shouting monotone religious scripture. I felt like my mother had dragged me to church for a very long service. The religious television speaker chanted loudly in monotone. Plus, the waiter disappeared into the back area, and the cooks and waiters spoke loudly too. Plus, the windows were being cleaned throughout my meal, and it would have made better sense for the owners to hire the window cleaners to work before not during the...
