Ducky's Snowballs & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Troy

First time in.. SUPER dirty - didn’t want to touch the doors even. Place was really hot and dingy. Girl who took my order was VERY nice and I’d give her 5 stars alone all day. You need every employee like her. Other girl was short and rude to my partner. Didn’t give them time to think as we had never been, pressured them into ordering quickly then when we had a question (can you add sour syrup in it?) she responded rudely that it’s already made. That’s fine whatever but the attitude sucked then $8 for 2 cups of water, sugar, color? Ridiculous.

Updated from 1 star to 2 because I genuinely appreciate the response I got from the owner. I understand these things and can relate. Still not sure I’d pay so much for it again especially after receiving bad service our first time in. I love places like this but there are several to try and I don’t see much point in coming back after that experience. We are avid lovers of Duckys over the years, but haven't been yet this year because my younger son was recently diagnosed with milk, egg, and peanut allergies and I've been hesitant to have the whole family eat ice cream while he couldn't join. We went this evening and I thought I'd get him a snowball instead. There were two young men working there and when I asked if the snowballs were dairy free, the one gentleman offered up the dairy free, vegan ice cream which I didn't know Duckys had. He even made sure to wash the scoop before using it. I have always loved Duckys but after this experience, we will go nowhere else for ice cream in the spring summer and fall. Absolutely incredible experience at Ducky’s Ice Cream today! I’m an Amazon driver and happened to deliver a package there…. and I’m so glad I did. The owner (Don) and one of the employees kindly offered me a soft serve cone, and I have to say: it was the best soft serve I’ve ever had. Smooth, rich, and absolutely perfect on such a hot day…it completely made my day and I will always remember this shift haha 🫶🏼♥️☀️

They were so kind and welcoming, and even took a moment to chat and share more about their ice cream. The shop itself is super fun and bright inside…definitely a great spot for families. I’m not from the area, but this place left such an impression on me that I’ll absolutely be back again and again.

If you’re anywhere nearby, you need to stop by Ducky’s. You won’t regret it!
