Pizza was good but staff needs more training!

My first visit to any Old Scratch Pizza location was on a early afternoon weekend. We had a party of 4. It was a pretty full house just about. Walked in and got in line to place the order. The lady running the counter was very nice and welcoming. We placed the order and had 4 drinks. We didn't realize she was supposed to give us our drink cups. They have clear cups at the fountain drink machine but soon realized they were for water. So we had to go back and get our cups. Not a big deal but being the first visit it just made it more confusing. We finally found a table and set our stand up with the number. The server brought out our salads. We asked for extra dressing. Upon him coming back one of our drinks spilled. The server just stood froze looking and holding the dressing. Not once offering let me get a towel or anything to help. So we quickly got napkins and cleaned it up ourselves. It wasn't us cleaning it up ourselves that was the issue it was the fact he didn't offer something proper to clean It up with. I would think that would just be basic common sense and you wouldn't need training to know how to do that! He eventually brought out our pizza. Out of all the trips he made to our table he didn't communicate at all. The pizza was good. I'll return again. Next time hopefully the service will be a little better. The drinks quickly increased the price by a decent amount....

I wanted a different style of pie this evening and I wasn't settling for the norm. I am very pleased with the whole process of selecting, ordering and picking up of my order. I chose the Chicken Bacon Ranch and salad of the same. The staff was pleasant and greeted me upon entry to retrieve my order and the restaurant vibe was great. Staff was very efficient in managing my order to the exact specifications I asked with the salad being full and fresh and very filling. I am grateful for the time and energy put into the order and it was shown by the presentation and the excellent vibrancy of flavors that struck my palate just right this evening. There is more to making food than simply putting ingredients together...if you know, you know! Something as simple as pizza and salad becomes....PIZZA and SALAD! YESSSS!!! Thx and job...

It's a balance that it seems like they are balancing...make it somewhat fancy and hip (where I would expect more service), but also have it order off the check in counter with really no service.

The place was clean, looked brand new, food was good with a decent variety of pizzas.

They had some weird pizzas which I just don't know what they are, and only a few of the "normal" styles.

Plan on ordering a 12 inch pizza per adult. With the super thin crusts, there isn't a lot to the pizza.

Ordering to being served was pretty quick, maybe 15 minutes, though it was a Tuesday night and there was only one other table taken, so the jury is still out.

Drinks are expensive. Pizza is fairly priced ($12-15 for a 12 inch personal pizza).
