Pho Sizzle Bubble Tea — Restaurant in Trussville

I urge you, DO NOT go to this restaurant.

I was very disappointed by this place. We came to get a take-out Thai Curry, and the inside of the restaurant was good and had was well-maintained with a lot of seating choices. However, we wanted to substitute the chicken in the Thai Curry with tofu, an even (actually, tofu costs less than chicken!) substitution. However, when we went to order the curry, the price came out to be 16.95 even though it was 11.95 on the menu. This is because their menu was not up to date, so the Chicken Thai Curry was actually 13.95 (and we were not notified of this, which is illegal by the way) and they charged one dollar more because we “added” a meat…even though it’s a substitution…which made no sense! And we did not even say yes to the order while the employee already told the kitchen to make it. We were forced to waste food because we did not comply to buying it. It was absolutely insanity. Also, nowhere on the menu did it say fried rice was an extra two dollars compared to steamed rice. It HAS to be specified in the restaurant like this. With tax, the order came out to be around 18 dollars for one curry, EXTREMELY overpriced for this area. It is a travesty that this restaurant is open, and PLEASE be careful of your bill if you come here, which you ONLY should if you are looking for a specific item, most casual goers will not anyways though. The mango milk tea was decent, but was the only slightly redeeming factor of this restaurant.

P.S: Update your sign! You don’t have rolled ice cream here, people are going to waste gas to try and get it here when it is no longer available....

Overall, food was great but the restaurant itself was very bland and servers that felt like they were rushing to get us out before we even had our food. Instrumental music on repeat, took a few minutes to actually be seated even though the place was pretty empty (maybe 2 or 3 tables actually seated), servers felt like they were rushing us to make a decision on our meals even though everyone else was already eating their meals. Very inattentive to our drinks but the moment we were finished and ready to get a to-go bowl for our leftovers and order boba tea to go, they were itching to get us out the door. Wife ordered her tea and was tending to our son while I tried to carefully pour my broth and leftovers into the to-go bowl and the servers came over 5 different times while I attempted to pour in my leftovers asking for my tea order seeing that I'm trying to not make a mess on everything while doing so. When we got our tea, they were out of the tapioca boba, they offered popping pearls to make up for it but my wife's tea was more pearls than tea when she got hers so when I finally ordered mine, I just got tea. I don't know if all of this was because it was getting close to their posted closing time or not but that doesn't excuse this poor service. I've eaten here twice, and the experience wasn't bad, due to I placed an order via phone. When I went in person to place a to-go order, the experience was not so great. When I walked into the establishment, it was one couple sitting at a table in the back, then there was my daughter and I, so the place definitely didnt appear to be busy. I waited for almost an hour for the cook to make my food. Keep in mind, SEVERAL people came in after me and placed a to-go order at the register. One party of two dined in...they all came in after me. EVERYONE received their food before me, even the two ladies that dined in, so I asked for a refund. At this point we were 10 mins shy of it being an hour wait. When I asked for the refund, I can hear the cook say " I have her food here". I still wanted a refund, not just because of the wait, but not one time did they apologize. The cook, who I think is the owner was trying to debate with me at the register that my food was now ready, once again not once did he apologize. I don't want to make it about race, but I was the only black customer. I will not...
