We not only had a wonderful meal but had a great time. Our server was amazing, comical and efficient! Our drinks never win empty, our orders were exactly what we wanted even with all the added details and requests. He did not miss anything. There are very few restaurants that you see the manager standing watch in the dining room. He was very present and kind to his staff. We observed this manager make sure that every table was attended to promptly. Even doing things himself when necessary. That is the sign of a well-run restaurant & company. Our cook was one of the best we've had. He took time to entertain us even when there was a crowd waiting and made our food exactly as we ordered it and it was delicious. The quality cut of meat for the filet mignon was out-of-this-world and the scallops were very big in size, we definitely got our. We took enough for another meal home, the portion sizes were very generous. We had a young man who was celebrating his 10th birthday at our table and he had stepped out to the restroom. When our server came by with the drums and birthday treat he realized the young man wasn't in his seat he quickly made a reverse and started backing out. As he was backing out he was saying "reverse reverse reverse, come back later. Come back later, come back later". To the beat of the drum. It was very funny and really made it fun. I've been coming to konomi's for several years and I'm never dissatisfied or disappointed.

The first thing that hit me was the hibachi and sushi/table side are completely separate so you don't get the noise of the hibachi or the constant reek of bitter garlic hitting the grill. That was very welcome even though the tables were close enough together to be borderline cramped (they are following really good Covid restrictions right now though with tables spread out or closed - after covid it is gonna be tight though). Decor is upscale without kitsch everywhere but the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Food choices are nicely varied and not just the same stuff every other Japanese restaurant offers. The sushi/sashimi plate was huge for the price. The soup is not the standard miso or onion, it is a lovely beef stock base with a hint of onion and ginger, served with tempura crumbles (they soak up the broth quickly but are still a pleasant texture). Very impressed with the soup. The salad is the usual iceberg lettuce but the ginger dressing is smooth and creamy with a ginger bite instead of grainy globs like is served at far too many places. My only real gripe was they seem to go heavy on the sesame oil in several dishes, giving a bitter bite where it shouldn't be and a lingering aftertaste. Then again, I really don't like sesame oil so take that for what it is worth.

Pros: the staff are very attentive and kind. The hibachi chef and waitress were very great at keeping all of our individual request addressed and noted. Cons: the portion size for my $35 meal was very lackluster. The picture is of a scallop and fillet mignon meal with no noodles and double vegetable. For picture purposes, I did not eat anything from the plate. After inquiring, the chef confirmed 3 scallops are included with that dish. While the meal seemed to be very well cooked, the portion size was very underwhelming. Overall, the other guests in my party did not request additional vegetables or seafood and received ample rice/ noodles and protein in their meal. They were very pleased with their portion size and truly enjoyed their meal. The restaurant seems to be a great find but if you prefer vegetables and seafood, you may walk away, desiring more.

This was the worst experience I have ever had!!! I went with my daughter and friend was disappointed from the very beginning. I walk in to three people staying around a stand and as we approached made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I sat and waited although there was no one in the restaurant and even went up and told them that I could change it to a table if that would make the wait less. They told me they would put first available although I looked around and saw tables and grills but still didn't say anything. When we were finally seated, I order two orders of sushi, a kids meal, and two specialty grill items with an alcoholic drink. So I say all this to say I was spending close to $100. When I received my drink it was absolutely disgusting. So I asked for the manager casually about exchanging for something else or the remake of this one. He told me very aggressively as if I insulted him that they don't do that and I will still need to pay for this one. I explained I wasn't trying to not pay for it I just wanted a remake he could use the same drink just add more favoring or something. Again he said in a deep sigh as he snatched my drink off the table that he would remake it. I told him to put it don't and leave it because at this point I wasn't sure what he would do to it. We then got the meals that were prepared really fast because it was cold. My steak wasn't prepared correctly and the chicken wasn't cooked properly. I will never return here and I'm not sure if the "5" ratings were from the staff or if they were having a bad Friday night with me being there but this was awful. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY the only reason I paid for this was because my daughter was with me and if I snapped it wouldn't have been a good...

I have dine at Konomi's several times, tonight was the worse dining experience of my life. My daughter said she wanted sushi, so we went to Konomi's. Well when we arrived it wasn't very busy, Mary came to the table took our orders for drinks. When she returned we place a order for sushi, a appetizer and entrees. We received our soup and salad, then our shrimp tempura. At this point I notice that a party of 4 that was seated next to us had received their complete meal. The party of 4 arrived 10 to 15 minutes after us. A larger party that arrived after the party of 4 had received their complete meal and a party of 2 had arrived during the concern conversation and of course they had recieved their complete meal. Myself and my daughter are still waiting for our entrees 20 to 25 minutes later. I got the attention of someone whom I inquired if he was a manager. He stated yes he was. I told him I had a concern. I began to tell him about my above concern, the waitress Mary, stopped by to hear what was being said. She stated that she held our entrees back, to give us time to consume the soup/salad/tempura shrimp. It doesn't take 10 minutes to comsume those 3 items. The manager stated to me that he can't control the kitchen and how fast they cook. I told him to bring my daughter her sushi and the check. We then sat another 15 minutes waiting for the sushi and the check. I called the manager over again to inquire about the check and sushi. He said the waitress told him she couldn't remember what type of sushi she ordered. How complicated can it be to come over and ask. Manager Ringo Yam and waitress Mary provided the worse dining experience of my...
