Loved it there! Pretty cafe, large footprint with plenty of seating, lovely soothing background music, great lighting, and a lovely atmosphere overall. What I appreciated most was the sheer level of cleanliness - the place is so spotless it felt like it was sparkling.
I tried their mocha latte, which was unusually devoid of any coffee bitterness to the extent that it kinda tasted like hot chocolate - which is fine by me; I don't like that taste anyway! Having said that, it's in fact cheaper than any other mocha anywhere I went to get one in Richmond. While I haven't tried any of the food yet, the collection looks great and the people I went with certainly enjoyed their food.
While it's not your usual downtown cafe it becomes a little less accessible and you'd have to plan to go there sometime, but the vibe alone is worth it being a destination rather than a stop. I'd also imagine this alone is a pretty good outing when you're going shopping and want to stop for a quick coffee and snack break or something like that. I went with a group for a planned event and it fit the bill perfectly as well.

Read moreMy husband and I recently stopped in to Fairuz cafe on a Saturday morning where they have a pleasant atmosphere and an abundance of seating. They even have two unique “alcoves” (individual stations) where one can sit at a little work ledge.
We ordered a latté which was big enough to split and was tasty. After Achmed (sp?) made the latté, with a straight face he asked if I wanted my picture on top of the frosted milk. I laughed because I thought he was joking. He then explained they had a machine which could take & “print” our picture on top of the frothy milk using a cartridge of cocoa (using technology similar to a laser printer cartridge). We thought it was pretty unique but maybe we don’t get out enough.
They’ve only been business for three months so they’re still getting established. They have a wide assortment of pastries, teas, and coffees.
If you’re looking for a locally-owned coffee shop, please send them your business. It’s a really lovely space to catch up with a friend - whether you get your face imprinted on your frothy...
Read moreSo, this cafe is unexpectedly serene. Within it, there are not only unique and flavorful pastries, but there are paintings that capture the cultural influences and portrayals of people engaged in their communities and represented with their dignity and charm. There are several tv screens that provide videos of natural scenery and even musical performance that will add to a soothing and inviting atmosphere. There is even a chess board for those who may wish to connect with their own skills while enjoying the atmosphere. I would recommend this cafe to anyone who wants to enjoy pastries that are outside of the mainstream standard in a soothing environment that is almost escapist in the...
