Greek Cuisine — Restaurant in Tuckahoe

I absolutely love this restaurant!!!! I've never had a dish at Greek Cuisine that wasn't delicious!!! From their Rice Pudding to chocolate covered Baklava, it's delicious!!! My favorite dish is the Lamb Shank Special with Rice, and if there are any lamb shanks left over, they just turn them into an amazing stew/curry dish that is incredibly good. May was our server, and she was absolutely fantastic! We got carry out, but ordered there so we had to wait 15min roughly, and May got my daughter some water as she was thirsty, then when my daughter spilled the water trying to eat ALL the ice, May was very sweet about it. Helped clean it up, and genuinely wasn't angry or annoyed in any way! That is a very important part of the review, because this was like 530-6pm! The phone was ringing off the hook. She was prepping to go orders, including ours and serving patrons in the restaurant. Thank you, May, and again, my apologies, but you helped my 9 yr old daughter not cry over spilling the water in the restaurant and being embarrassed. As she started to tear up in the car, I assured her that you(May) wasn't angry at all, it was OK and that it's just part of your/her job! Can't thank you enough for doing your job at an extremely high level while also doing what you could to keep my daughter from feeling embarrassed, Thank you, May!!!!🙏 Also, very tough to find a better Gyro than the ones here!!!! The customer service continues to decline. Greek Cuisine takes forever to answer the phone. When one goes to pick up their food, the wait is even longer . Tonight the older white haired lady, Cathy was very rude. If you are not the owner, you need to work on your manners. I waited 10 minutes for her to actually come to the register and then she took someone who came in after I did. When I asked her about it, she said she doesn't wait on people who are talking on their phone. Never mind, that I wait on hold to order and there have been times when I've called 6-7 times before getting an answer. Then when I get to Greek Cuisine there is a longer wait to pick up my order. I might as well order when I get there. I told her if she doesn't wait on people who talk on the phone, maybe they should get more help or put up a sign. It's becoming very apparent that Greek Cuisine doesn't care about their customers. Who cares if the food is decent when the staff is super rude! 2/20: Customer service is much better. Had a wonderful lunch @ Greek Cuisine-West End. It has been a couple years since we have found a good gyro, and this really did impress. This is a small establishment, but when you are confronted by the aromas as you enter the door, you know you are in for a treat. The chicken and lamb gyros were excellent with very generous portions of meat. The lamb, in particular, was extremely well seasoned and flavorful. We also had the Santorini platter, basically a greek salad on top of gyro meat with sides of Pita bread and tzatziki sauce. Again, a generous portion and quite flavorful. The Greek Pikilia I platter provides a nice blend of a variety of Greek flavors which were all quite good. The Spanakopita and tiropita were flaky and light with a nice mild filling. The grape leaves of the dolmades can sometimes be a bit sharp flavored, but these were not overly strong and complimented the rice filling nicely. The marinated tomatoes and cucumbers with sides of hummus and tzatziki to put on pita bread rounded out a fantastic meal. We loved the food and attention of the eager to please wait staff....
