I reached out to MOSAIC Restaurant to see if they had a chef’s table or chef’s tasting menu available for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday celebration and to celebrate our anniversary. The manager, Randy, quickly responded and was happy to set up a custom event for our group of 13 people. Randy was very responsive and helpful throughout the planning process.
Chef Tim was a pleasure to work with. He met with me to discuss our likes/dislikes and he developed a menu that was perfect for our group! He designed a 7-course chef’s tasting menu just for us. I really wanted to have a unique culinary experience and Chef Tim did just that. During dinner, he came out to the table and explained each dish. Every detail was clearly thought out and his innovative yet classic French approach to cooking really shined through. Everything was absolutely delicious! Each dish was plated beautifully. He also accommodated my Mother’s food allergies which we greatly appreciated.
Shane did an amazing job selecting wine pairings for each course. The different wines complemented each course perfectly. Everyone was writing down their favorite wines off of the tasting list because they plan on buying them! They were that good. This exemplifies Shane’s expertise and talent for using the flavors in wine to complement the flavors of the food.
Sarah was our waitress for the night. She was extremely attentive and organized. She handled a large group with ease. Each course and paired wine was brought out at the same time and she continuously cleared the table to prepare for the next course. Sarah’s outstanding performance helped facilitate the timing of the evening and helped everything go smoothly.
Our evening could not have been better! MOSAIC restaurant and the key individuals listed above ensured that every detail was taken care of and that we all had a great experience. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed a truly unique culinary experience!...
Read moreSecond time for dinner at Mosaic, honestly and unfortunately a mixed bag with the food. My wife and I went several months ago and it was okay. I recall entrees being meh but had a great app, drinks, and waitress was friendly and attentive.
Recent visit was last Friday and again, mixed bag. Brussels app was awesome, wine was good. My mother in law had one of the salads with salmon and said she liked it but didn't seem that impressed. My wife and I had the "Spanish Beef Bowl" which was a huge disappointment. Majority of the bowl is pieces of romaine lettuce (mainly stems), a couple tiny slivers of avocado (figure 1/10th of an avocado each), microwaved cauliflower rice which was pretty mushy, roughly 5-6 ounces of over-salted tough beef, and what tasted like store bought mayo based chipotle dressing. Not to be overly cynical but I could make this bowl better for $5 in 7-8 minutes, certainly not something I'd expect on a nicer restaurant's dinner menu. I'd chalk it up to ordering the wrong thing, but my rockfish last time I went was small and over-salted as well.
Location and atmosphere is pretty nice at this place in my opinion, place is a few tweaks from being good. I think Mosaic is somewhat uninspired, menu needs a revamp and potential elevating quality of seafood and meat which will allow far less salt for flavors to pop. (TBH room to charge more for higher quality proteins/dressings/produce/etc)
It's probably unfair to compare these establishments but recent stops at Shagbark, Pinky's and Soutbound unfortunately leave this restaurant far, far, in the dust. Not close. Room to...
Read moreI've dined at this restaurant twice, and the second time, I was highly disappointed. I went to celebrate two of my co-workers' birthdays. I brought a cake for the occasion and placed it on our table. As our food was about to be served, the hostess kindly offered to store the cake in their refrigerator to make more room on the table. She assured us that we could have the cake back after our meal and that she would provide extra plates and silverware so that we could enjoy it.
After finishing our meal, we asked for the cake, and that's when the waiter informed us that we couldn't eat our own cake in their restaurant because they sell cake themselves. I was shocked and frustrated as this policy wasn't communicated to us when we arrived. The hostess was also confused and mentioned that bringing in cakes was common and allowed. Furthermore, when I visited the restaurant in the past, I witnessed another table celebrating a birthday with a cake they had brought in (hence, how I got the idea). However, we were not allowed to eat ours. Not being able to enjoy our cake significantly dampened our celebration!
If this is their policy, I respect that. However, I felt like the restaurant intentionally did not disclose their policy upfront when they saw me bring in the cake because they knew we would have gone to another restaurant. They were more concerned about their profits than our celebration. As a result, I would never return to this restaurant and would not recommend...
