Cactus Rose — Restaurant in Tucson

We decided to come here for Christmas dinner. usually the buffet is good, but on Christmas it was just, well, disappointing. The food tasted good, however, we were expecting something special on that special day, thus the disappointment.

The buffet service included a baked cod (which made the entire place smell of fish), turkey, and ham for meat dishes. There was no carving station with prime rib, no crab or any other meat items that you would expect to see for a holiday meal. There was a selection of baby zucchini and baby patty pan squash. I would have expected to see asparagus or brussel sprouts also. The salad bar was very weak in it's offerings. The dessert bar consisted of a choice of apple pie, cheesecake or chocolate torte. None of those appealed to me so I went without.

There was only one real outstanding dish on the entire buffet line and that was the butternut squash ravioli.

Our server was great, she kept the plates cleared and the glasses filled.

There were 5 of us our bill was over $300, so I would not recommend coming here for another holiday meal at all. My rating is based solely on the value we received. I'm sure if there had been a wider variety of dishes worthy of the special day, the rating would have...

The worst. I have never been to a location that is so incompetent. I was at this location and walked out due to lack of service. I decided to try it again as I stay at this location for work. Tonight I went into Cactus Rose. I was the only customer here. The staff was at least six people and a manager were so busy gossiping that my service was extremely slow. After 20 minutes I get my food and asked for A-1 sauce. Ten Minutes later still didn't have it. I finally went to the back of house to get it. The prime rib was cold by the way. I asked for a manager for which they tried to avoid, however, I wasn't going to stop until I talked to one. This clown was a mistake. He was a pacifer and did nothing to rectify the problem. Food was horrible. Asked for a well done burger. Meat was really pink from the inside. Not only that but the patty had no flavor at all. Server came to drop off drinks and only returned to drop off food and then only to srop off the check at the end. Never got my soda re-filled. When I was asked if I wanted any ketchup or ranch I asked for both and never got them. I got up and went to an empty table to get a bottle of ketchup. A family member got the steak again. No flovir what so ever. (Yes I took a bite) and it literally tasted watered down (I don’t know how). At the end of our meal one waiter dropped off this empty tray and me and my father had to pick up the plates and put them on that tray. Never has that happened at any place I’ve been to. Terrible...
