First time at this particular restaurant. The drive thru was packed so we went in to order out. The manager was training new employee. Talking down to him. Telling him how to listen to the customer... Manager took my order. I ordered 2 #2s (cheeseburger meals with fries and drinks). (Easy order by # menu so the sign said) I thought it odd when he asked if I wanted fries and drinks with the burgers. I didn't question about it and I really should have. Especially Infront of the new employee to put this arregont manager in an embarrassing situation. He told the new employee to get the drinks and he felt it necessary to go show him how to do it properly. When the order came up the manager gave me the bag and went on to tell the new employee that's how it's done properly. Meanwhile my drinks are setting behind the plexiglass out of my reach. The new employee was looking at them wanting to hand them to me but being respectful listening to the manager as he was bragging himself up. I asked if I could have my drinks. The manager didn't even look bothered that he forgot to hand them to me. When we got out to our vehicle to eat there was hamburgers not cheese burgers. The French fries are McDonald's brand( I'm a former McDonald manager) expecting the fresh cut crinkle fries we always got in Montana. They weren't even cooked thru. ( The manager was saying to new employee, while we were waiting for our food, to make sure and ask if customer wants onion on burger cause that will remind customer that they don't want lettuce or tomato. ) It's a good thing we wanted everything on our burgers cause it was like a Wendy's commercial WHERES THE BEEF!!! It was lost in the bun. Good thing there was so much good lettuce and tomato because the beef patty ( not sure if it was real beef or the new synthetic meat certin restaurants are starting to use) was squished down to the width of a quarter. If it wasn't for covid I would have went back into this restaurant and gave that manager a chewing out that the rest of the employees would have given me a standing ovation. Pompasness does not make you superior. This is the 3rd IN AND OUT I've been to in Tucson. I've been disappointed with them all. I will not go back to another IN AND OUT. The only reason I give this store a star is the cleanliness of the lobby and the employees. 4 thumbs down to the manager. ( Mine and husband's) Not the way to train new employees. Most People aren't that stupid. Don't make it out like they are especially Infront of customers. Don't know what the names of either person. On the receipt it says the cashier was Zachary TI check#53 12/02/2020 12:53pm. I told my husband if I was being talked to like that I'd give that manager a piece of my mind and walk out on him in the middle of rush. You don't treat people like that. No I don't want a free meal for my troubles and I'm not looking for a refund of $14. Have more respect for employees and PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CUSTOMERS NOT TO WHAT YOUR GOING TO SAY NEXT TO YOUR TRAINNEY TO MAKE YOURSELF ALL HIGH AND MIGHTY. Jill...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn-N-Out is for very specific tastes. I almost don't want to write a review because of the many people I've met who have been to this establishment they either love it or are lukewarm at best. So how to review a place like this. I'll just qualify that this review is only for like minded people. If you've either been to In-N-Out and love it or you like 5 Guys or Freddie's then please ignore my review and rating this is not for your edification. In-N-Out is a very nice, small interior burger joint. On many occasions you will hard pressed to find seating. The wait times both inside and drive thru are longer than average, but not overly so considering the volume of customers. In-N-Out only does one thing and does it well, burgers. That's it. You get single, double, or triple. Don't look for chicken or fish or anything but cow burgers. While I find the patty size small the burgers actually have a good heft to them and even a single is filling. The meat is juicy and well fried (diner flat grill) without being overcooked. Even while tasty, this is not what I would consider a great burger. It's only advantage is that the whole joy of this experience is that you can customize your toppings any way you want (with the available ingredients - no mushroom or avacado). But honestly you can get that from the other chains if you just ask. To that end this the only fast food joint that you can get grilled onions on your burger. And that is delicious. Whenever I have the bad luck to be in the company of other people who want to go the grilled onions are my only consolation. The other thing is that the French fries are horrible. They are bland shoestring style that somehow can manage to be dried out and limp in different spots at the same time. Make up your mind French fries. Avoid at all costs. Otherwise the staff is always pleasant, and accurate in your order if slow. If you like a well grilled almost patty melt style of burger then I can't recommend the Habit enough. Even Burger...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn and out is an odd type of place. It's so hyped that people actually think they're eating some place special. First: The hamburgers are MAYBE a tiny bit larger than a McDonald's Big Mac patty or their regular hamburger patty. My hamburgers were all under cooked and you could see raw meat inside the patties. I took them back and they gave me ones that were burned on the edges. Oh, There needs to be a TikTok showing the difference and weights between McDonald's and In and Out' patties. Second, the hand cut fries are nothing to rave about. 3/4th of mine were less than a quarter of an inch long and many were burned. Third: Refrigerated ketchup? Just eww. Fourth: no diet Dr. Pepper or Dr. Pepper. Why? Fifth: The only deal in the place are the shakes, but you have to ASK to get a "large" one or else they are tiny. The large one was like $3.25 which is a deal compared to McDonald's which is like $6..yeah. $6!! Sixth: This is America. We are almost all clinically obese. The cheeseburger eating public cant fit comfortably in those booths or those tables with the attached swivel seats. I only saw a few chairs where us overweight Americans can sit. Lastly: It's the same thing. Limit access to something and people go crazy. In and Out, White Castle, limited edition Star Wars toys, variant cover comic books. Yeah, there's nothing really special about In and Out. It's just not in Chicago, New York or...
