Creosote Sonoran Kitchen & Cocktails — Restaurant in Tucson

This will be the 1 & only visit to this place...hands down the WORST service! Arrived from out of town to enjoy some quality BBQ & views with a friend to be vaguely greeted & told to "sit anywhere you'd like & a server will be right there". After selecting a spot on the patio (in full view of staff), we waited for about 10 minutes before I reentered the main dining hall in search of staff, to no avail. I then went to the unattended host station to help myself to a menu & returned to my patio seat in hopes of being prepared to order once a server finally would appear. This however did not occur so after another 10 minutes or so of looking through the menu --waiting for a server-- I again went back inside, this time I went to the bar to at least begin with a drink order & confirm that a server would be coming. This is when I was greeted by the most unfriendly & seemingly disgruntled bartender available. Rather than saying hello or even anything basically or remotely hospitable, I received an annoyed "what can I get you"? I asked about any happy hour specials & about the server situation. With an attitude, she replied that tap beers were on sale & that "the server will be there shortly". I explained to her that we had been waiting for approximately 20 minutes at that point without anyone or anything. The bartender said she's been "really busy" (with the only 4 or 5 patrons in the bar/dining area-whom had clearly already been tended to as they were wrapping up) & then asked where we were seated & I directed her attention to the patio directly in front of her. She then said that was her section & she'd be right there to take an order & bring water. I thought fair enough at that point, maybe she's just having a bad day...but then it continues. Bartender finally brings water & abruptly & confusedly takes order. After a few moments, another staff member delivered our meal order. My friend, who does not eat pork or beef because of specific dietary needs, specifically asked if there was any meat in the beans. The server promptly & confidently said "no, not at all". We took the server's word to be true & proceeded to eat. The meal was tasting very good & things seemed to be taking a turn towards an improved experience until we realized that there was in fact meat in the beans. Too late because my friend had already ingested it & immediately began to feel nauseous. My friend had excused herself to the restroom to vomit. This is when I asked the bartender to check with the kitchen regarding the meat in the beans only to be confirmed. As I then told the bartender that we specifically asked the server if meat was in the beans, the bartender defensively scoffed as she argued that she was our server & we never asked her that, to which I responded that I was talking about the server who delivered our food. The bartender then said "oh, she's new". This is simply not acceptable as it is the primary job of any server to know the menu & be aware of dietary needs when providing service (none of this was supplied by the server). Being naive & disconcerned is not an excuse for making people sick, especially in the food & service industry. The bartender offered to get the manager, so I accepted. After aprising the manager of the situation, her only solution was an insincere apology & offer of a complimentary dessert. Seriously, this level of treatment is ridiculous! At this point, my ill friend voiced that she simply wanted to leave. Rather than appropriate compensation, the manager went to fetch the bill. This should have been a positive memory to enjoy, but instead it was an absolutely terrible experience & I am beyond frustrated that we had to pay full price for it. For a renowned golf course resort/restaurant to treat its guests in such a fashion is inexcusable. With all this being said, I hope that the Catalina Barbeque Company learn & improve from all the mistakes. I know I will as I would recommend for others to seek other destinations for quality...

This is my new favorite!! For being a BBQ Co Sports Bar I was surprised at the level of personalized service from making my families dinner reservation to our final bill. We were a party of 9 with 2 very young ones. I was pleasantly surprised when they seated us in the private dining room which was perfect for the little ones to get up and move around without disrupting other guests. Damian was our server and he was on top of it and intuitive to our needs. The food was delicious, like a little party in your mouth with each delicious bite. I never had a margarita made the way Carlos the bartender made mine but it was amazing. The entire staff made us feel like they were there just for us. This is the place to go if you want great food, service at a reasonable price and all the staff seemed to like being there and happy to serve.

if you love the taste of different flavors as kind of tiny spicy hint and the sweetness of a delicious barbecue sauce, come'n over. this place offers many flavours in salsas, sauces and dip's, been presented on different meats. the service is excellent, inside the place is nice, comfortable seating inside or outside, I prefer the outsides looking into the georgeous greens of the golf course annd seeing others play golf in a nice laid back ambient, peaceful and in direct contact with nature environment. you'll fall in love with all the different smells and flavours coming out from all the plates as they are been carrying out from the kitchen by friendly and respectful knowleadgeable servers. is my first time here at Catalina, my son had the texas burger and I chose the chicken sandwich with fries, these fries are crispy and tasteful, and the special barbecue hint on my chicken sandwich is just perfect. the scenery as you eating is like or feel's like you are seating at the table inside the golf course, were others are playing golf around your table.
