Grand Buffet — Restaurant in Tucson

Being generous on the two stars, but I'll get to the point. I'm only taking the time to write a review because I've been coming to this place for many years and I can't make excuses for their short comings anymore. It doesn't seem like they read their reviews or try to implement changes.

Party of 16, Moms bday, she loves Chinese buffet and her and I have come to this one for over a decade. So the choice was a no brainer.

It's two A.M I'm only awake because I woke up vomiting. I am hoping it's just due to acid reflex or something, but came on to the reviews to see if anyone else had this problem, ill be checking in on my family in the morning. I do recall leaving the restaurant and going home feeling so sick, but I chopped it up as possibly just being full, as buffets have that effect obviously.

Before tip, my bill came out to $20.75 Which initially I thought was a mistake, but turns out my drink was almost $4 alone for one Styrofoam cup that was mostly ice and never offered to be refilled. Turns out no one at our two tables got refills either, we were all ready to pay still sitting thirsty asking for refills.

Question? Is the pyramid of paper plates on every corner of the food completely necessary, does anyone ever actually get go those bottom plates, seems like a risk of collecting dusts on the lower plates if people just pull from and you replenish the top layers. I get if people overprepared for the pandemic. But the plastic cups, plates and utensils can still be used for takeout. Bring back the dishes and silverware.

My favorite item at any Chinese restaurant are cheese ragoons/crab puffs. The ones here didn't even have their own tray on the buffet line, theirs are ALL PUFF and zero cream cheese, it became a joke to everyone that they were so puffy, yet empty inside. My two favorite things are the crabpuffs and shrimp, and the shrimp that I had was so overly coated I felt like I was mostly eating breading. I overheard a few people in my group murmuring some tastey items, but the joking became more and more serious as no one could track down a server for refills. One of my nefews actually crossed the invisible line of dinning room and kitchen, to sneaking refill his dad's cup.

After 15plus years I'm sad to say this was my last time coming here. The overpriced dinner was not worth the bad service and cheap cutlery. Good...

I wouldn't recommend visiting this buffet. I know in this economy a buffet can seem like reasonable value but this establishment has serious problems with cleanliness. After a visit, a family member and I contracted typhoid fever and had to be put on strong medications and were unable to eat or walk due to the pain. Typhoid is a form of the salmonella virus and it caused by water that is contaminated with urine or feces or improperly cooked food. After calling a pima county health inspector, they were rude and said we just wanted to get money, when we just wanted the establishment to take cleanliness more seriously. It seems the health inspectors don't seem to take it seriously either so it seems like this problem won't be fixed for a good while. Many other reviews also will point out food poisoning after a visit and these go back several years. I know it's common for people to exaggerate or lie to just hate on businesses on Google reviews, but I beg you to reconsider and visit...

so much has changed… their literally so cheap and lazy and greedy!!! They took out all the good food and now the food is so low quality! There’s hardly any good options to choose from anymore and on top of that when I went to go get my plate there was this creepy guy standing in the middle of the buffet watching everyone angrily with his arms crossed I felt soooo uncomfortable I don’t recommend going to this place! Go to Golden Corral across the street better if you want a buffet with more options and the employees don’t stare you down when you get your food. The only good thing I can say about this restaurant though was my waitress, he was so nice and made sure my drink was always full and the egg drop soup is to die for😍 #EggDropSoupLover But the rest of the other food they put out can go to hell, it taste like garbage and looks like garbage.
